The headset weight is a drawback for younger player. Foam eye cushion came off in first week of playing. Great graphics and exciting light saber duels. We got a second unit when it came on sale.

My kids love this game. My 6 and 9 yr olds have played it. My 9 yr old does better but with the 6 yr old it involves a lot of parent assistance which drives me crazy since I’m not into playing games. The graphics are pretty neat though. It can be confusing to play with the chess like games and navigating the menu. My 9 yr old figured it out after I was just done with it. The 6 yr just wants to fight people. Lol. I wish there was just a basic play fight option rather than this real game of trying to figure things out. The 6 yr old doesn’t do well with that. They do have a lot of fun though. My only other concern is how hot my iPhone gets! It wears down the battery fast and typically when it pops up low battery on my phone, they finish, but when I take my phone out of the headset, it is really hot! I worry about long term damage to my phone.I wish there was better ventilation to the phone while it was in there. I have the iPhone 6s. It’s a pain anyways because I have to take my phone out of the case to put into the headset which worries me. My iPhone was expensive and I never like it out of it’s case. It would be better if this could use an older 4s instead since I have a spare. If you have an older smart phone that’s compatible with this, I would recommend it, but if you are using your main more expensive smartphone, I wouldn’t recommend it. You really won’t want to hassle with it. Another thing is since you are using your phone’s screen to play through the headset, any texts or alerts that pop up stay up the whole time and display on the play screen. My kids didn’t really care but that would drive me crazy. When the low battery alert pops up, it’s right in the middle of the screen which is why they stop playing. Otherwise you need to slide the cassette out of the headset which holds your phone and push the button to get rid of the alerts.

So my friend and I bought this after the price was reduced to at least 99. I bought it on black friday making a deal out of it. I was going to do an unboxing video and mine are usually short and sweet and to the point. That was not the case with this one. We not only had to not do an unboxing video but we ourselves did not know how much work it was just to set up a demo. It is fun for playing but the hoops you have to go through to set it up is why it does not get 5 stars for me. You will have fun and it will drain your battery life of your app installed cell phone but I would wait for a sale for this kind of product and not spend anything about $99

Well done game. I truly enjoyed the quality and polish given to this setup. The lightsaber and headset are excellent although there is a learning curve for the phone installation process. Game play, while not 100% perfection all the time, is wonderful and engaging. I was sweating pretty good by the 3rd round!! Is it worth the money? I absolutely love it and play it often. Any SW fans need to at least try it out. I brought mine to work and Iet friends try it out - needless to say they all bought one.

I had really low expectations going into this, which may color my review. Also, I used an iPhone 7+ for this. You probably need a beefy phone for the best experience. (I'm curious how a Galaxy S8 looks since it's a higher resolution screen) Setup is a PAIN! Not only is the caddy that you slip the phone into very delicate and hard to open, but the on-screen instructions for the AR app are very poorly done. It's not immediately obvious how to proceed to the next screen when setting up the device. Also, the USB plug doesn't seem to always register a connection. Despite the setup issues, the floaty/jittery tracking, and a controller which has to be frequently re-centered during gameplay--I have to say this is a really amazing experience. The games are VERY well made, and cleverly deal with the limitations of the hardware. Obviously the light saber battle game is the centerpiece. The other two games are cool but are kind of annoying to play standing up.

We are glad to hear that you are having fun with the Star Wars Jedi Challenges game.
You only have to set up the game one time at first. It is very important that you follow the set up of the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges headset, Lightsaber and tracking beacon with the app. This process ensures that all of the parts of the game are synced together. Also place the tracking beacon several feet away from where you will be.

It is fun and challenging! The refresh rate or calibration to be precise with everything could use a bit of work but it doesn’t take away from it for me or my son. It’s just fun and I think it will continue to evolve- at least I hope so! His phone get a bit warm after a bit and the headset can become heavy on the neck after too long but that’s expected I guess. I’m happy I found it for a gift because it’s getting used daily. Be prepared to be very impressed when you open it and see the light saber!! That is so cool!!

Fun to play, took a little while to get set up but once you do it is a lot of fun, just make sure your phone is compatible ( I have to use my wife's phone--time for me to upgrade). You will need to charge the headset and the light saber after you play it, if you let the charge get low then the graphics start to wobble and the game wont work. Overall though, its a ton of fun and a cheap way to get immersed in VR games.

First of all, it was a bit of a pain to set up. Once we did, the game was fun. Then it just became repedative. Your phone will get hot. You can only play this for short periods of time. I felt that with the phone in the VR mask, IT became heavy. Almost bothering my neck. I played it a few times when I bought IT 2 months ago. I have not played it since. The lightbaber is pretty sweet. I would only recommend, if you are a true diehard fan.

Then adjust the top strap until the headset is at a good height and feels comfortable to you.

Got this for my Star Wars loving husband for his birthday. He and my daughter laughed and played for a couple of hours. The only thing is your phone gets fire hot. So really should only be played for a short time at a time.

Got one for my daughter 2 years ago for 3 times the cost. Now we can do two player together. Loads of fun with the free expansion pack. Even if you don't play with it, For less than $70.00 bucks (3x lower than just a light sabre at Disney parks) you get a really cool light sabre, plus vr yourself in the starwars galaxy.. BUT! Can be difficult to set up if you're not techy.

This was a gift for my 12 year old son and he uses it every day. He is a huge Star Wars fan and a VR lightsaber is perfect. Now I don’t have to worry about the plastic ones destroying my house.

One of the best games you can play. The only problem it has is the tracking. The tracking is actually really good but at times it can be off by a lot. hopefully that can be fixed with a software update. But overall its really fun to play and it will hopefully get even better with more software updates since its based on an app.

We are glad to hear that you are having fun with the Star Wars Jedi Challenges. For proper tracking please make sure the tracking beacon is at least 1.5m from where you will be playing. To re-align the Lightsaber controller tracking : Turn on the game, place the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges headset on and hold the Lightsaber controller between your eyes about 12 inches away. Then push the black button on the Lightsaber controller. This will align the tracking for the Lightsaber controller.

I bought this set for my son who is very heavily into Star Wars, and it wound up becoming a family activity. Great graphics and easy to use. Comes with batteries!

This a must for any Star Wars fan from child to adult. Easy enough to set up. The younger kids need help loading the phone into the cartridge but that’s not really a deal breaker. Only thing I was disappointed about was there isn’t a big selection of Android phones that are compatible with it. We originally bought it for our 9 year old for Christmas but quickly realized his phone wouldn’t work with it. Thankfully we have iPhone 7’s so we just kept it and use it as a family toy.

My son downloaded the app for his phone before we went to pick up the package which was waiting for us at our local Best Buy. The on line ordering process with the in store pickup was flawless. The device was easy to set up and easy to use right out of the box. The reviews are right, you need space to use the device. It's great fun.

Although this isn't "true" AR; the holograms do not know about or interact with your environment, and the lightsaber tracking messes up frequently (although that's easily remedied with one button press), this product is incredibly fun and addictive for the whole family. Headset is a little heavy.

For the best viewing experience we recommend playing Star Wars Jedi Challenges in an open space without hard light. To rest the Lightsaber Controller tracking, turn the game on and with the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges headset on your head , line up the Lightsaber Controller vertically between your eyes about 12 inches away and press the black button on the Lightsaber controller.
