A: The old model was a 2 speed fan, this one is a 4 speed fan. Also has 4 filtered intake ports vs the older one had 2, with the rearward 2 angling down upon extension of the hood. The 2 slower speeds are much quieter than the old one, as they are much slower, but with the angling of the rear intakes, and the addition of 2, the suction is much better. Also just an FYI, the old one had 2 halogen lights, this one has one superbrite LED, which I think gives off more light.
A: The only advantage is which you'd rather use. I tried the touch panel on the door in the store vs the side panel and I like the real buttons on the side. It just didn't seem to be worth 50 bucks more just for the location of the controls. Everything else is identical.
A: The window area is smaller than normal. Not my favorite feature but it works.
A: Yes, Plug ins are mostly standard with the over the stove model microwaves, however you could hardwire direct if you wanted to go through the hassel. As far as venting you have a choice to vent inside or outside.
Q: Is the keypad lighted all the time or just when the oven is cooking something?
A: Keypad does not light up at all.
A: I paid to have this installed but I am a member of the geeksuad annual services which cost $199 annually. But I did that because I had multiple installs of TVs to be done and that makes every install only $49.95. I don't know if this helps in your situation. It does take two people to do this since the hole is already there from previous microwave it should be easier for you than an original install. It took them about an hour with 2 guys they had to drill new holes and I also had a GE over range microwave before.
Q: The width provided, is it with the handle or without? Thanks.
A: The width provided is with the handle.
