Works good. BAD packaging. TBD on power savings
Replaced a 4 year old 10k Frigidaire window unit. Purchased this based on Consumer Reports reviews and features. This is to augment main A/C to help control temp in bonus room. First, Packaging was HORRIBLE. I could not blame UPS for this, as the box was too thin material. I'm surprised it held up as good as it did. I moved the box from my garage into the house with a dolly. Then needed to carry it up stairs. When I went to pick up the box by the handles, one side just ripped. Then tried lifting it upright to see if I could pick it up a different way, and an entire side ripped! Fortunately, I hadn't picked it up off the floor, so it did not drop. Got it upstairs, and went to open it. looked ok overall until I started to prep it for installation. I noticed several fins were bent on the inside and outside. Not a huge issue, I just gently straightened them out. I noticed a few dings on the outer casing. Again, not horrible, but disappointing. On the inside of the unit, I noted there were several areas where foam was not in place. It was supposed to be sticking, but instead had packing foam particles. Foam did not come off in shipping, it was poor assembly. On the upper rail, where the side panels go in and bottom sash drops onto - IT WAS BENT!!! This did not look like shipping damage. It looked like it was not assembled well. It was messed up where the side panels would not go in. I had to take that bar off, and beat it with a mallet in order to reshape it correctly. If this had been delivered like this to a non handy oriented person, it would have been a return to Best Buy and reorder. Finally got the case in the window. Got sash secured, panels in place, etc. Took an hour longer than I had planned. Inserted the unit, and plugged it in, etc. Foam for side panels and in between sashes is horrible. Foam panels for side panels doesn't stick well, It's been pulling off on its own. Will have to buy something to help it. Foam between sashes is cheap, so will disintegrate very quickly. Unit itself works. Adding to wifi has to be done via LG's app. App is very slow, but works. It cools very well. However, Energy Saver starts up the fan very frequently. Per instructions, it's supposed to be every 3min, but seems more frequent. It cools very well. Seems slower to cool, but maintains it very well. It is very quiet. Fan speed on high doesn't seem to push as hard as Frigidaire's, but doesn't make as much noise - so not going to complain too much. Has a bit more variables in air directionality, however I've not seen a perfect solution on window units. Getting it to work with Alexa is an add on Skill. It did not do well with a name like "Bonus Room Air Conditioner." Can control temp with LG app, but very slow to load. Because I work out of my bonus room, I occasionally turn off the AC to not overpower audio. But having ability to remotely turn it on (when you forget) is extremely helpful.

Good A/C
So far it’s great, fast cooling. It had some minor damage when I opened the box.

GREAT INVESTMENT
OMG this is one of THE BEST investments ever!!! It cools my room down in a matter of 15 minutes. My bedroom measures 12ft x 25ft, and from floor to my pitched ceiling is 35ft. I was worried it wouldn't be enough BTU's, but its more than enough to cool down my bedroom, plus I have 2 sky lights with no shades on them, no trees to block the sun out, and I get sun at least 16 hours of the day. If you have low ceilings, you won't need to keep this A/C on for long at all. It is very quiet and very cold.

New Window AC
Works great. Cools my home down quickly. One thing draws more power on startup. I have to switch to a 20-amp breaker. Other than that, works great. Lighter than my old one and easy to install.

Works great
Our central AC compressor broke and we couldn’t/didn’t want to front the money for a new one yet with so much unknown during the pandemic. We live in Florida and it’s “fall/winter” so we figured this would cool our small 900sq ft house well with the help of the smaller window unit we found on Craigslist, which was also LG. I do wish there was a little more detail in installation instructions but overall pretty easy since we are not that savvy when it comes to this stuff. If I remember correctly it’s weight is below the recommendation for an extra support but I was not comfortable with the amount of pressure it was putting on the window. We had to stop mid installation to get more support but other than that it went pretty smoothly. It cools great so far we haven’t made it to summer yet, so we’ll see but I am no rush to get Central AC back just yet. Easily clean filter too and love that it has a remote control. Biggest downfall is that it is much noisier than our smaller unit, so luckily this is in our living room and the small one is in the bedroom.
