Replaced a 4 year old 10k Frigidaire window unit. Purchased this based on Consumer Reports reviews and features. This is to augment main A/C to help control temp in bonus room. First, Packaging was HORRIBLE. I could not blame UPS for this, as the box was too thin material. I'm surprised it held up as good as it did. I moved the box from my garage into the house with a dolly. Then needed to carry it up stairs. When I went to pick up the box by the handles, one side just ripped. Then tried lifting it upright to see if I could pick it up a different way, and an entire side ripped! Fortunately, I hadn't picked it up off the floor, so it did not drop. Got it upstairs, and went to open it. looked ok overall until I started to prep it for installation. I noticed several fins were bent on the inside and outside. Not a huge issue, I just gently straightened them out. I noticed a few dings on the outer casing. Again, not horrible, but disappointing. On the inside of the unit, I noted there were several areas where foam was not in place. It was supposed to be sticking, but instead had packing foam particles. Foam did not come off in shipping, it was poor assembly. On the upper rail, where the side panels go in and bottom sash drops onto - IT WAS BENT!!! This did not look like shipping damage. It looked like it was not assembled well. It was messed up where the side panels would not go in. I had to take that bar off, and beat it with a mallet in order to reshape it correctly. If this had been delivered like this to a non handy oriented person, it would have been a return to Best Buy and reorder. Finally got the case in the window. Got sash secured, panels in place, etc. Took an hour longer than I had planned. Inserted the unit, and plugged it in, etc. Foam for side panels and in between sashes is horrible. Foam panels for side panels doesn't stick well, It's been pulling off on its own. Will have to buy something to help it. Foam between sashes is cheap, so will disintegrate very quickly. Unit itself works. Adding to wifi has to be done via LG's app. App is very slow, but works. It cools very well. However, Energy Saver starts up the fan very frequently. Per instructions, it's supposed to be every 3min, but seems more frequent. It cools very well. Seems slower to cool, but maintains it very well. It is very quiet. Fan speed on high doesn't seem to push as hard as Frigidaire's, but doesn't make as much noise - so not going to complain too much. Has a bit more variables in air directionality, however I've not seen a perfect solution on window units. Getting it to work with Alexa is an add on Skill. It did not do well with a name like "Bonus Room Air Conditioner." Can control temp with LG app, but very slow to load. Because I work out of my bonus room, I occasionally turn off the AC to not overpower audio. But having ability to remotely turn it on (when you forget) is extremely helpful.

So far it’s great, fast cooling. It had some minor damage when I opened the box.

OMG this is one of THE BEST investments ever!!! It cools my room down in a matter of 15 minutes. My bedroom measures 12ft x 25ft, and from floor to my pitched ceiling is 35ft. I was worried it wouldn't be enough BTU's, but its more than enough to cool down my bedroom, plus I have 2 sky lights with no shades on them, no trees to block the sun out, and I get sun at least 16 hours of the day. If you have low ceilings, you won't need to keep this A/C on for long at all. It is very quiet and very cold.

Works great. Cools my home down quickly. One thing draws more power on startup. I have to switch to a 20-amp breaker. Other than that, works great. Lighter than my old one and easy to install.

Our central AC compressor broke and we couldn’t/didn’t want to front the money for a new one yet with so much unknown during the pandemic. We live in Florida and it’s “fall/winter” so we figured this would cool our small 900sq ft house well with the help of the smaller window unit we found on Craigslist, which was also LG. I do wish there was a little more detail in installation instructions but overall pretty easy since we are not that savvy when it comes to this stuff. If I remember correctly it’s weight is below the recommendation for an extra support but I was not comfortable with the amount of pressure it was putting on the window. We had to stop mid installation to get more support but other than that it went pretty smoothly. It cools great so far we haven’t made it to summer yet, so we’ll see but I am no rush to get Central AC back just yet. Easily clean filter too and love that it has a remote control. Biggest downfall is that it is much noisier than our smaller unit, so luckily this is in our living room and the small one is in the bedroom.

So I have whole house AC but a movie and game room on the 3rd floor and since heat rises and the whole house just dont keep that cool enuff I put one of these up there and it fixed that pretty easy. Last few ones I have had have been basically same model only older and never really any problems. It's pretty quiet stays ice cool has WIFI to hook up your phone and turn it off and on up and down. Without maybe getting into some way crazy higher end models I think these have been the best overall on the market for years now & also seem to get rated as much many other places. Doubt anyone would ever be disappointed in this model or future versions of the same thing. It was definitely a good investment and as of now if it ever goes I would instantly buy the same one again.

I waited a month to make a review.. And now that it's hot out, i can! The air conditioner is working great! I am super happy in how quiet it is compared to my old one and how quick it cools my apartment.. Super happy with my purchase!!!

This is our second LG of this model. We left the first one in our old home, but was working great after 5 years. This is generally quieter than most and works well.

This replaced an earlier LG that lasted for about 7 years. It's the same size, but quieter and more efficient. It cools a really large bedroom (appx. 300 sq. ft.) quite easily. Strongly recommended. Also, got a great price match at Best Buy.

Its a good AC unit. Keeps my room real cold. I had it in my living room before and it wouldn't cool as much, maybe because of the room dimensions however in my bedroom it does the job

I bought the air conditioner to replace the my old one and it has worked very well for the very brief period I used it. Unfortunately, I bought it during summer and had to travel and came back towards end of summer and it will greatly underutilized until 2020 summer.

This is a great AC. It cools the room quickly and we live on the top floor, so that is saying a lot. The only downside of this unit is that it's not super quiet. But I have yet to find any window AC that is super quiet....

Easy to install. Cools 550 ft great. Price was great.

I live on the fifth floor so it is important that I get a good air-conditioner. This one fits the bill, cools the room like no other air-conditioner I’ve had it for!

Advanced rotary compressor, but the fan speeds are all the same, and very low. This does make the unit very quiet. Neat feature is the ability to remotely turn unit on. LG support sucks! First one got did not work. LG service not available in our area, had to remove 81 lb unit and return to store. LG support was very slow to respond and kept getting different answers from different reps. Would buy again, hope don't ever need service on unit! Another neat feature is you install a "cage" in the window and unit slides in.

I was nervous buying this but those worries were put to rest once I saw the performance. Easily cooled down my 650 ft apartment in about 30 mins in 100 degree heat. Love the WiFi controls that I could turn on the unit remotely before arriving home. Easy set up and easy installation. I would but this again and again I am very pleased.

We like this ac a lot. It’s well built and well insulated From outside noise. Obviously it’s not ultra quiet, this is a large unit after all. Also, be careful when setting up. Read directions thoroughly and have a buddy to help you install. You just want to make sure everything is secure because if it’s weight.
