This soundbar has lived up to the hype and even exceeded my expectations. I have a home theater system in my TV room but I wanted just a soundbar for my living room to watch movies, sports, and play video games. This is a 5 star system that sounds great and was super easy to install. Here are the pros: - Easy to install. It took me longer to get this thing out the box then it did to get it hooked up. You run one wire to the TV and then plug it in and you will immediately get sound. The rear speakers and subwoofer are wireless so you can place them where you prefer to create your sound bubble. - Great sound and loud. I bought this as an upgrade from a 300 watt soundbar and this model has double the power and gets twice as loud. You get clean and clear highs combined, good mids, and with clear vocals. The bass is room filing and good especially for movies and gaming. The bass is average for music though but I'll discuss that later. - Rear speakers shine. Usually the rear speakers on sound bars are either weak or get drowned out by the front speakers and subwoofer but not with this system. The rear speakers are loud and enhance the sound bubble and also deliver directional sound. When watching a movie or gaming it's awesome to hear and feel sounds moving behind you, over you, and next to you. - Nice style and blends in and no connection issues. The soundbar is very long but it looks nice and blends in with my TV stand. No wires running across the floor or all over my living room. I've had issues with Bluetooth wireless soundbars where either the subwoofer or rear speakers cut out or lose connection. I've had 0 connection issues so far. No technology is perfect so to be fair and balanced here are the cons: - This is not a cheap system especially during a pandemic. It's worth every penny once you get it home and use it though. - The bass for music is average. When it comes to movies and gaming the bass is good but it can't hit that low end bass with music. I've noticed that front firing or side firing subwoofers can't hit those low end sub sounds in music. Subwoofers that fire down sound much better with music but that's not an option here. It's not a deal breaker though. - Out of the box sound is just ok. You will need to adjust the settings and sound profile to make the system sound great. The out of the box settings are bad and you must turn ON surround sound, adjust the sound profile to MOVIES, and turn up the individual speaker volumes. It took about 5-10 minutes to get the sound profile just right to how I prefer it. Bottom line...this is a great system and it's got all the newest features so it won't be outdated anytime soon. Google Assistant works as advertised and adds to the user experience. Dolby Atmos and Hi Res Audio really shine and I've experienced 0 distortion even on high volumes. I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend to family or friends.

This Dolby atmos soundbar also reads DTS. I found the sound was clearer and had better midrange than the JBL 9.1. The Netflix movie 6 Underground was the first movie I watched. Although the JBL had a larger 10" subwoofer, I felt that the LG had a much more precise lower stage which really surprised me. The Dolby Atmos aspect surrounded me with sound that was accurate and it enveloped us with an amazing sound bubble. The sound can be controlled by the app, but unfortunately, it adjusts the volume and not the tone. But maybe LG may upgrade that in the future. Music playback was great. You can choose just the soundbar, or switch to surround. Once you get use to surround sound, it will be difficult to watch anything without it. *Not all Netflix or Prime videos etc... are equal. By the way, the dimensions of my family room are 25'X17' & 9' ceilings. This is a keeper.

This is the best entertainment investment I've ever made. It far exceeds expectation even after some research, I was still absolutely blown away. It has forever changed my home experience to the point that I may not ever go back to a movie theater, and if I want night club quality sound and volume music, I've got that too with this system. It is absolutely amazing and worth every penny. I couldn't be happier.

Wow is all I can say! You never knew how much sound was in TV shows or movies. Street scenes have me looking over my shoulder wondering who is the the room with me. It gets loud! Only about half way do far and it cranks!

Got this home from the store and IT DIDN’T WORK!!! I was excited to get this home and set up as I had just purchased the 77” LG OLED C1 and thought this would work perfect together. I had researched and was going to get Sonos Arc and changed my mind because they offered $200 off the LG Soundbar when I bought my tv so I went with it. I read the reviews and thought maybe it would be ok… boy was I wrong! I should have went with the Sonos! After I took the time to set it up the rear speakers and sub were defective. The rear speakers cut out and make cracking and squelching noises which freak my dogs out. The sub will randomly make huge booming noises which sound like someone is stomping on the floor above you. I called LG support and spent an hour on the phone with them to find out that they told me I would have to take it to a repair facility or take it back to the store! Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed and now have to try to take the time to return this back to the store which is a huge pain! I have a lot of LG products and now I am concerned about the quality of those products. I would NOT RECOMMEND this Soundbar!

The sound is superb with it set up with my 77” LG C1 it seriously sounds and feels like the movie theater! I love it, I don’t know how you can’t love this sound. Exceeded my expectations.

Before you read other negative reviews and make your decision based on that, I would read this first. I ran into the same issues that Mr. TL;DR had which was irritating. However after doing some research, as well as an update came out for my TV to up the audio return channels for PCM from 2 to 8 for the eARC capability...thus solving all problems. Please let me explain: The previous reviewer did not mention how he connected the sound bar. If he was only connecting toslink (optical), you wouldn't get the full LPCM 7.1 feed, not enough bandwidth, but you can get the DTS:X, Digital and Atmos (HDMI only) feeds under bitstream, which is prepackaged and decoded on the receiver end. FYI: Research: https://planethifi.com/pcm-vs-bitstream/ My take on it: Bitstream - compressed, lossy, receiver does all the work PCM - uncompressed, lossless, source device does all the work. Why mention this? Depending on the content you are playing depends on the audio stream you need. For gaming, you want LPCM/PCM over bitstream, since you want the least amount of latency when playing regarding audio and video. It is also the purest form of sound. Having the receiver decode a bitstream from gaming guarantees latency. At the same time, games do not contain the encoded audio track, and if they did, other sounds are injected into the audio, thus causing all the delays (~100 ms). Gaming systems do have the option to go bitstream for DTS:X, DD and Atmos, which is nice if you also use it as a Blu-ray or media player. For my other systems (Fios one, Blu-Ray, TV Apps) I would use those format to get the best sound with no audio lag. Again, it's the medium you are playing that should determine your sound. I can confirm after the TV update, the eARC port is pushing out 7.1 uncompressed for Xbox One X, 7.1 uncompressed for PS4 and 5.1 uncompressed for Switch (All PCM). Other mediums do play Atmos, DTS:X and DD from Netflix, Fios, Google Play, Blu-ray. Connectivity: - With eARC, you can connect Console to TV and get the same audio quality as Console to AVR. Since the sound bar does not support VRR and ALLM passthrough (it does passthrough HDR, Vision...), I left my Xbox connected directly to the TV. You can put other systems on the sound bar if you don't have those options. If you are using eARC, doesn't matter. - Connecting the sound bar wireless through the TV will get you 2 channel bitstream. If you only watch tv that might be fine, but you want to hardwire the sound bar to the tv, its much more stable. Save the bluetooth for audio streaming - Connecting Optical and HDMI will prioritize HDMI first. - If your TV supports eARC, plug in the HDMI to eARC. TV Settings: (from my LG C9) - HDMI-CEC (Simplink): On, Auto Power enabled, device selection off. - Sound Output, HDMI ARC (eArc enabled, use Passthrough not Auto) - Additional sound options (switch to bitstream over PCM) Make sure your HDMI is enabled for best passthrough from the soundbar. System Settings: - Xbox, PS4, etc: Use 7.1 uncompressed/PCM (for Gaming) If you use is strictly as a media player, use bitstream. - TV Apps - smart enough to use the correct format. Regarding Atmos: Keep in mind that audio that isn't originally Atmos (converting) needs to be encoded to transmit Atmos, then sent over to the receiver to be decoded. You will get an audio delay either way you connect your device (device->tv->soundbar or device->soundbar->tv). Shows that already have Atmos tracks do not run into this problem. Sound Quality: It is excellent, it is suttle..it doesn't hit you in the face with sound, which I appreciate from other soundbars. It compliments the audio and the content, which is nice. It doesn't scream out (IM RIGHT SPEAKER), it works in perfect harmony. I haven't played with the sound options much, left it as AI Sound Pro, still sounds so good. A definite upgrade from the TV speakers. Other features: - VRR and ALLM does not passthrough the soundbar inputs. 4K, HDR and Vision does. Could be fixed with an update, don't know - A device that allows auto switching to an input does work on the soundbar, and it will switch, especially with a Switch. Minor gripe: Sometimes when turning on the TV and trying to switch to an input on the sound bar automatically it gets confused with the same input number on the TV. I think it's the auto detection of the TV for devices. I think turning that off on the TV fixed it. (Besides, how often are you switching out devices?) Might play around with the inputs. Overall: I almost had buyer's remorse, but before I did a return out of frustration and did my research on capabilities, I can conclude that the sound bar is doing exactly what it is doing; the sound is excellent. Knowing what type of audio you need to return from specific devices is crucial to what to set. Make sure your TV is updated with eARC fixes. It is a beautiful, big but minimal sound bar. At the same time please remember this is a sound bar, not a full blown Audio Video Receiver. Keep that in mind when thinking about replacing, there are limitations after all.

Purchased this for a small 25 x 10 room, does a great job of filling up the entire room with music, just be sure to turn on surround sound for audio (can't remember the exact command unfortunately, highly recommend you read the manual for this unit however). Right off the bat I will mention that if you end up suffering from interference issues like I was, it is because this unit runs on the upper bands of the 5Ghz spectrum. Go into your router settings and change your channel manually to something in the low 100's, I set mine to 100, and everything worked fine from there. Movies have great LFE voice clarity, explosions have a satisfying thump to them. Dolby Atmos disable being able to use and of the included sound effects while watching that particular content. Note if you do not set things up correctly, its very easy to get distorted audio. I noted this when I played War of The Worlds, but after setting my Pot Player to Pass Through all audio, it was pristine. Included google assistant is very useful, I like to be able to set it to play random music through spotify and google play music. Another thing to note is that this unit will *not* sync with the LG Thinq app (in my case on android). You will have to download a separate LG SoundBar App, which has it's own quirk, noted by the low reviews on the website. So why 5 stars and no less you say? Given it's quirks and yes it has some, this unit met every need I had from simplicity in setting up with my LG C9 OLED out of the box, to having full surround sound music capabilities. It's closest competitor, the Samsung Q90, sounds great also but also has it's ups and downs, all these devices do. What this unit does and what it's meant to do is play hi quality audio at a high level, with no drop outs given it's wireless which was a concern for me. Having the included rear speakers was something I didn't know I wanted until I had it connected. TLDR: If you have an LG TV go with this, or with Klipsch's WISA offerings, which cost more but have better audio quality especially if you have a larger room; although even then that is subjective. if you have a Samsung go with the Q90 that is similarly priced. Should you have neither of these, either will work but Sonos has some great soundbars on the lower price end, while sennheiser has a 3000 dollar one that would work if you are so inclined (** COUGH ** get a sub if you get the senny though ** COUGH COUGH**

It has been few days using the sound system and so far I’m in love with the sound quality. Set up was so simple, the rear speakers connected without any problem. The sound at looks great with my 86 lg Tv and in the future I am planing to mount the lg sound bar under the Tv on the wall for even better sound quality. With built in google assistant I am able to control sound volume and listen I my music without needing to use the remote.

So LG has definitely put out a power house!! From the unboxing and the absolute quality of the speakers. The sound is amazing. They are house shakers! No kidding, on the Bluetooth setting and with my favorite streaming device cranking, my house has a little shake to it. No matter the level the sound is clear as a bell. So watching the first NFL football game of the year the sound of a game are just next to none. Even with a limited crowd the surround sound was amazing. The setup of all 4 speakers were as easy as it can be. Except for getting the audio to sync, more on that in a second. The sound bar I the main brain. Once that is hooked up then everything falls into place. Setup the sound bar then plug in the subwoofer. It auto syncs to the sound bar, same with the rear speakers. So easy to set up!!!! So back to Audio sync with the TV. I had to call Samsung which is my TV brand to instruct me on how to sync audio. Very easy to do, I just didn't realize with sound bars that had to happen. Once I found that it was easy! The only thing the I had an issue with is the wall mounts. Not really a big deal but the angle of the bracket wasn't exactly 90 to the wall. So I had to bend a little to make speakers square to the wall. Over all this system is amazing. The price is pretty high but well worth it! They are House shakers!!!!!

I had the opportunity to set-up and experience the LG SN11RG Soundbar with Meridian Technology. Setup of the LG SN11RG was pretty straightforward, and although most components are wireless, a power supply cord is still necessary. This may minimize your ability to position the speaker optimally. The unit is lengthy at almost 60-inches, and so it did not fit in our console cutout. However, because this soundbar houses speakers on the sides and on top of the unit, I would not have opted to put it inside anyway (afraid of sound distortion). Set-up with Google assistant made it virtually effortless for me to link this system with my Spotify and Sirius XM radio. I was somewhat disappointed that the unit came with only an optic cable, rather than an HDMI cable. Because the Dolby Atmos is only accessible through the ARC pass, an HDMI is really necessary to maximize sound experience. Despite this (I purchased my own HDMI), the LG SN11RG did not at all disappoint in regard to sound quality. As an avid technology buff, I was excited to see the Dolby Atmos come to life when this soundbar was coupled with our 86-inch LG television. The sound output with Meridian technology is crisp and clean, moreso than any previously owned soundbar. The sound enhances total television experience while bringing the picture to life with sound detail. I absolutely love watching football, as this soundbar makes me feel as though I am in the audience! Gaming with this soundbar has also been a terrific experience, as the sound simply fills the room. The most subtle sound details can be heard on the surround sound speakers-- a totally new experience for me. I do wish their was a manual knob for bass adjustment, but the system seems to be fairly adequate with self-adjusting bass and the highs/mids/low ranges. Overall, the quality, performance and audio output from the LG SN11RG Soundbar has far surpassed my every expectation. Exceptional sound quality, exceptional television!

TL;DR: Awesome sounding bar. Atmos is very rich. WiFi interference not an issue (my dual-band WiFi 6 router is sitting within three feet of the bar, TV and subwoofer). With the exception of the glaring issue detailed below, this soundbar is a giant upgrade from my former setup - a discrete receiver + 5.1 speakers. However, a warning for those considering the bar who have an Apple TV 4K or Nintendo Switch... you aren’t getting proper surround. If you like to listen to your audio in "standard" mode, meaning the surround channels are reproduced per the creator's wish and not up-mixed via some surround mode, there is a glaring issue with this bar. If the bar is fed a Dolby Digital, DTS, Atmos or DTS:X bitstream (regardless of channel count), the sound will come from the speakers as expected. Rear audio is sent to the rear speakers. You should be golden and very pleased with this bar. However, if you send the bar 5.1 LPCM, it sends the left/right rear channels to the side-firing speakers AT THE FRONT OF YOUR ROOM. You lose true surround for virtualized surround. The only way around this is to turn on different surround "modes" or up-mixers, which generally sound awful and you aren’t getting what the director intended. This behavior is not a fluke - check out LG's own user manual. Page 27, standard mode, 5.1 Ch "Others" Input. "Others" essentially means LPCM. I confirmed today that the rear channels on non-Atmos 5.1 content from the Apple TV 4K (output via 5.1 channel LPCM instead of a Dolby bitstream, due to ATV's "Auto" setting) use the bar's front side-firing speakers instead of the wireless rears. The solution is to change your ATV's audio format/output settings from Auto (LPCM) to Dolby 5.1 (bitstream). This slightly reduces audio quality, down-mixes 7.1 content and turns off Atmos, but it makes the rears work as expected. When I want to watch 7.1 or Atmos content, I now have to change the ATV audio setting back to Auto for that viewing, which restores full LPCM 7.1 or Atmos to the soundbar. It's quite frustrating, but allows proper surround for the vast majority of content we watch, with the option of flipping on Atmos or 7.1 when there is a need. There is far more non-Atmos than Atmos content out there. Spending $1,500 on what is arguably meant to replace a full AVR, only to then reduce the sound quality from one of your sources, is incredibly frustrating. I’m considering returning it, although I do love the sound. As a side-note the 5.1 LPCM issue will also plague those using a Nintendo Switch or a PC/console that doesn't encode its audio to a bitstream. I'm a big Mario Kart player and was super disappointed to learn I can no longer hear my opponents coming up from behind my sofa.

I'm very pleased with this soundbar system. It was very easy to set up. It is nice that the satellite speakers and subwoofer are all wireless, so no need to run speaker wires all over the room. They do all have power cords that need to be plugged in though. There is an AI setting that is meant to provide good sound based on your personal set up/room. It sounds good that way, but I have found that the Movie preset sounds better for me. I saw another review somewhere that mentioned that and suggested setting the subwoofer and center speaker volumes at +3 and all the other speakers at +2 to really good surround especially with the vertical sounds from overhead objects. I have found that recommendation to be accurate. I've only had the soundbar for about a month, but am really happy with it. It is nice because I am able to plug my Dish receiver and a Nvidia Shield streaming box directly into the soundbar with HDMI and switch between them by changing the input on the LG remote or my phone. The app for this is simple and easy to set up. I have a couple Vizio soundbars and they sound good, but their apps never work and are extremely frustrating. This system really does a great job of filling the room with sounds.

A week into owning an sn11rg, and I’m ready to say this is the best overall soundbar I’ve owned. It’s a breeze to set up, and I’ve run into very few issues so far. I almost exclusively use it for movies and streaming tv. It really shines with Atmos and lossless content. Movies like Baby Driver and Blade Runner 2049 gave me goosebumps. The rear speakers are more immersive than the q90r rear speakers and more detailed than the nakamichi surround speakers. The LG WiFi Speaker app is simple, but allows individual channel volume adjustment along with settings like night mode, dynamic range compression, and dts neural x. The sub can provide a serious amount of bass, and it’s not muddy at all. It accurate, punchy, and gets plenty low for me. While this bar has eARC, my LG e8 does not. I have an Nvidia shield and a Panasonic dp-ub820 UHD player hooked directly to the bar to ensure lossless audio. I also use some tv apps, and I haven’t had any lip sync issues or lapses in audio. I’ve heard that the sn11rg can disrupt Wi-Fi networks. I stuck to 5ghz instead of 2.4, limited frequencies to the low end of 5ghz, and kept my router about 3 and half feet from the bar, and I have had no problems. It’s an expensive soundbar, and LG doesn’t skimp at all on this beast. While the Sonos Arc is getting a lot of attention at the moment, the sn11rg is quietly becoming the best soundbar of the year.

I have a 55" LG C9 OLED TV. I wanted to take advantage of all the features the TV has to offer. Specifically Dolby Atmos. I live in an apartment and will be moving next year, so a full wired surround system with an AVR receiver was not an option. After watching many YouTube reviews of this soundbar system and comparing it to review of the Samsung soundbar system (and others), I opted for this. I suggest looking at multiple reviews to find the patterns and common takes. Reviewers are pretty good at articulating my own experience. I understood a soundbar will never match the quality of a full AVR system. For example, the soundbar and height speakers use reflections off of walls and ceilings to mimic the placement of speakers on the sides and in the ceiling. However, there has been a significant improvement in entertainment experience. It's a new experience to hear the sounds move around you. For example, in John Wick 3, when the gun slides towards the camera, you hear the sound of the sliding gun go from in front of you past your right side and behind you. Rain scenes sound like it's raining (and thundering) all around you. When the characters are looking behind you at a sound, you hear it behind you. In Midsommar's May Queen dance scene, you hear the music spin around you as they are spinning. For non Atmos or 5.1 sound, you still get a sense of surround sound. Watching sports, you hear (for now fake) crowd around you. Watching some shows, nature sounds (bird chirps) are all around you. I also have Google Home devices, so the Google Assistant is a great match. Overall, I'm very happy with the ease of set up and the performance. The system does the best a soundbar system can possibly do. I think people who are most disappointed have unrealistic expectations for the system and believe it can exceed its limitations. I'm not super obsessed with having PERFECT sound placement and effects. This is a substantial improvement from just TV speakers or a single soundbar. I don't know if it is completely worth the $1600+ you will spend on this. But I don't feel like I've been ripped off (otherwise I would have returned it). If you have the means to spend on this, can't do a full wired AVR system, want something that's easy to set up and move, have a Dolby Atmos TV, and regularly watch TV and Movies, I highly recommend.

For the past 15 years I’ve been using the traditional speaker-receiver-sub woofer (5.1) set up. I recently moved into a new home and some of my equipment was damaged during the move and we had to put a lot of work into the house. I no longer wanted the hassle of purchasing new speakers, subwoofer, wires and a receiver so I started looking into sound bars. After reading a lot of reviews, forums and watching YouTube comparison videos, it boiled down to the SONOS ARC and this LG SN11RG. Needless to say, this system was more for my needs as a person who loves movies and playing video games on my PS5 and PC. I tested both in the store and while the SONOS was loud and crisp (might be best for music lovers), the LG was unbelievably more immersive and like others said, really executes movie theater quality sound. It sounds good right out of the box but apparently there was a firmware update that made it sound even better! If you’re in the market to switch over from a traditional setup to a sound bar or if you are more into movies and would like an immersive Dolby Atmos experience, I would highly recommend this system.

I saw some issues with people saying it was horrible and it would always disconnect. I am very happy with my purchase, and yes I did have some issues with disconnects, I did end up moving sub further from the bar and it was a lot better/ some issues were with streaming and cable and that can be the way the broadcast is coming in / when I had DVD/blu ray on no issue. I use to have the SLY10G with rear speaks and its night and day. The rear speakers with this are so much louder and clearer and with no wires just have to plug them in you get more flexibility when placing the speakers. This bar is awesome and I have it connected to B7A with ARC and its awesome. The bar is new and sure there will be updates to fix any issues. The app when connecting bar had some issues with bar not showing, but after charging iPhone the bar was back online with the app. Yes I could have got the Samsung 9.14 channel bar and people say Samsung is superior to LG, but I disagree as I see some people having issues with disconnect just like LG. This is a great bar with great sound and the dialogue is clear and have all speakers turned on to full blast. Love it.
