A: Yes, something is wrong. My dryer is super quiet and I have not experienced any high pitch sound. This is my second LG dryer of this model. I owned my previous version for 3 years and never had any issues.
A: I've had this dryer for 15 months and the light is a convenience but works oddly. When the cycle stops, the light comes on and stays on a few minutes, but not generally long enought to empty the dryer. I fold/hang my clothes as they come out of the dryer so one at a time. If you empty everything all at once into a hamper for example, you'll have no trouble with the light being on long enough. The weird part is that to re-light the light, you have to turn the dryer back on, then hold the "drum light" touchpad for 3 seconds. The light will then come back on for some period of time. Very unintuitive, and unnecessarily cumbersome.
A: I am not using the remote feature of this machine. I am using them in the traditional old fashioned way very successfully. This was not a selling point for me as I’m not very good at working these new technologies.
Q: does this model have a door that open from right to left?
A: The model is delivered and installed with the interior of the door facing the left - the door pulls out to right. It can also pull from the top down (partially). The manual explains how to switch the swing direction yourself. It's a complicated task but not impossible! 2 hours of project time.
A: Yes, this model allows for use of a drying rack. The drying rack is sold separately, part no. 3750EL0001C. ^Daphane
Q: What is the added steam installation requirement for the steam function how is it installed etc
A: They make a steam dryer kit that I bought at menards. It's a small hose that attaches to a y and it hooks up to the cold water for your washer. Then 1 hose goes to the dryer and then you take the hose from your washer and hook it up to the other part of the y. It's super easy
Q: How high up is the dryer vent from the floor and is the vent centered to the dryer? Thanks!
A: Thank you for your interest in the LG Electric Dryer (DLEX7900BE) model. The height of the dryer vent from the floor can vary, but a common recommendation is to set the vent a minimum of 12 inches above the outside ground. As for centering the vent to the dryer, it is advisable to measure the specific dryer you own or are going to buy before making the hole in the wall, especially if you are concerned about alignment. You can download its owner's manual through this link for more information: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-DLEX7900BE.ABLEEUS. ^Cris
A: Hi, it may be necessary to have a yearly vent appointment by a professional vent cleaner to clean your vents. Before you do this, please be sure to remove all lint from your lint tray first. Behind the dryer, check that the exhaust hose between the dryer and the wall is not crushed, dented, kinked, compressed, or coiled over like a spring . If it is, please resolve this as this may cause the D80 error code. Moreover, please confirm there are no holes in the exhaust hose or loose connections. Should all these points have been checked and you're still having this error code, please contact us at 800 243- 0000 from (Mon. to Sun. 8AM - 9PM EST). We'd be happy to further assist! ^Chris

She sure is pretty! I love that the settings allow us to adjust to desired dryness (as if max dry isn't always the option). Even more love for the digital display that shows estimated timeframe to complete the cycle. You can adjust temp and time or let the dryer use its sensors to run the load on its own. I trust myself more though! The coolest features to me: the steam fresh cycle cause who likes to fold wrinkled, cold laundry? Not me! I've used the sanitary cycle a couple of times but geez that takes more than 2 hours to complete. Still cool and overall it's easy to use! If I could change something about this machine it would be the door and the lint trap. We had the machine professionally installed which includes a (right swing, left open or top partial pull down) door. Of course that was the opposite of what we needed in our laundry room for the most efficient in/out laundry swap! The manual explains how to switch the door swing so we gave it a go. I'm pretty handy but next time i'll grab some cash and ask the team installing the machine to make the changes before taking off. We literally had to unscrew every single bolt, rod, screw, panel and glass piece to dismantle, flip the positioning and reassemble the aforementioned zillion pieces! Don't skip any steps like my husband likes to "attempt" cause you'll just have to start again. Sigh. At least he tried to help! All in all it took about 2 hours of time for something I would've estimated to be less than an hour to complete. Nit picky about the lint trap too. It's placed at the front of the door which is great to remind your kids to use it (hopefully). However, when I pull it out after each load I see small pieces of lint falling and collecting down inside the lint shaft (is shaft the right word?). Maybe this is normal but I can't help but try to scrape the walls and stretch my fingers to grab the loose pieces in hopes to prevent an inefficient dying cycle or eventual clogged vents somewhere inside my house walls. I refused to scratch my bare knuckles anymore and started using a long-ish swirl brush to do my lint collecting. It works but i'd think some smart person would've invented a "lintless" dryer by now! Tech stuff: a king size comforter fits just fine. It still took 2 full dry cycles on the highest heat to complete the task all the way through the middle. All good - I was paying more than $30 to clean each of our comforters at the dry cleaners before. The size of this dryer makes this purchase decision an easy win! If you like the small unexpected things in life like me you'll enjoy the sing songy musical tone the dryer plays at the end of the cycle. LG style. Love it! Final same but separate review - we bought the matching LG top load washer with the 5.5 cubic capacity (we wanted big - we got big). It's so deep I can just barely reach the bottom of the tub to retrieve the clothes. Seriously - i'm 5'4 and can't stand it anymore. I've tried different tools to grab the clothes and a step stool but inevitably end up smashing my "chest" as I lean head first, feet out dangling to swap out the wet clothes. If you're considering the matching set and you're under 5'4 i'd venture to a store to give it a test run!

Exceptional performance. Easy to use settings. Has all the bells and whistles we needed. Dries all our items fast and efficiently. Plus, the door opens in two directions. Very handy. We love our new dryer!

Bought this to replace a still-working dryer because I wanted a set with the washer. It's amazing. The two-way door seemed gimmicky at first but really does make loading easier, and it's larger than what I had before. I really wanted the smart features because I got used to them on my last dryer. Steam refresh is my favorite feature and works great here in just 10 minutes. Regular cycles and sensor for dryness all work well. Had a bit of trouble connecting to wifi at first but unplugging the dryer reset everything and it connected easily after that. No regrets, just enjoying fresh, clean clothes.
