I ordered this ac online and it delivered in horrible condition, the box clearly had signs of poor handling as well water marks on the outter box. I immediately was in complete disappointment. I decided to try my luck and installed it. After turning it on there was no cold air producing. I returned it to best buy for a complete refund. I asked for a replacement and of course they were sold out. I am still without and ac till this day.

It works perfectly when paired with a home assistant like Google. I miss it does not allow you to set up a specific time to turn off automatically. Also, the AC unit does not show temperatures in Celsius. The LG app is invasive and it keeps running in the background transmitting data to advertisers. I recommend uninstalling the app, and using the AC via Google Home and remote control. It does a good job cooling the air.

Do not buy this air conditioner if you plan to use with smart modes or expect support from LG. Read recent reviews of the app on the Apple App Store. Most are negative. I’ve had 2 of these air conditioners for about a month and received no support from LG. The SmartThinQ app is truly garbage. Called several times to resolve issues with programming smart modes for 2 window AC units and emailed at least 7 times and still nothing. When they did respond 2 of those emails, the responses had nothing to do with the problem. I purchased these units solely because of the feature to have home, away, pleasant, sleep and vacation modes configured for the units. None of these modes are configurable. Just notes “airconditioner alert”. The app is also not compatible with IFTTT so if you want to set a mode to start if you enter a distance from your home, it is not possible. If you are looking for a smart air conditioner, look elsewhere.

I love that I can control this unit through my app. Deducted a star because it’s not easy (or even possible) to activate while away from home. I think your phone has to be linked and actively using the 2G WiFi. It doesn’t use 5G or 4G.

This air conditioner definitely blows cold air but don't get it for a bedroom because it will keep you awake all night! When the compressor kicks in it will wake you out of a deep sleep and then all of the rattles will keep you up the rest of the night. Very disappointed in LG's quality with this unit. I'll be returning it this weekend

So we were looking for an AC to put in our son's nursery as summer in NYC can get HOT! I decided to check out the wifi-enabled models as we have several google assistant devices in our home and so we can have the ability to cool off the room before we put him to sleep. Once we got it in the window, it was good to go. We didn't do the full installation which seems like what you do if you are going to leave it in the window permanently. Just stuck it in the window, pulled the side pieces out, and stuffed the foam insulation pieces where needed. It is simple to operate...just push a button and cool air! The wifi setup with the LG SmartThinQ app was pretty easy. I got it downloaded and set up in about 10 minutes. The app is easy to use and setting it up to use via the google voice assistamts was even easier. The AC isn't cheap, due to its wireless connectivity but I'm willing to pay the extra few dollars for the additional features and convenience.

Excellent AC for these hot and humid days. Quiet operation on low for sleeping. Energy efficient unit has saved money over last summer's electric bill. Wi-Fi connection for easy settings. App works flawlessly on my cell phone. This is my 3rd LG AC I've purchased, Very happy with quality and features. Bestbuy.com had best price and availability.

Wanted a window unit A/C for the bedroom. 8,000 BTUs may have been a little overkill for our area but price difference between this and smaller units wasn’t that much. The LG had great reviews and due to the windows in this older home we had be careful about the width of the unit. Weight made one person installation possible and I highly recommend purchasing the window ledge support bracket. Made installation easier and safer. Don’t care for the economy setting due to units stops and starts throughout the night. Did my research and feel this was the best value for the money given the window I had to work with.

Works with Apple or Android, can be turned on from virtually anywhere as long as you are around your network. I’D HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Noisy when compressor comes on, fan on high is even louder, will not connect to WiFi regardless of what app instructs. Overall it’s just not a great product. It speaks volume when this all is discovered in the first month of owning it.

Solid A/C. Pretty loud when on higher fan speeds, especially if you're in a smaller room, but does a great job cooling a space quickly, and the fan setting is enough on days that aren't super hot. Works great with the LG ThinQ app, and I love that I can schedule it to turn on at an exact time.

Original delivery brought a unit that was defective in that it failed to blow out cold air. Best Buy came and picked up the unit and arranged for a replacement in short order. The replacement unit functions as expected and have no complaints.

Just got it this spring, so have only used it for a month. Initial impressions are very good. Also, in our home the spot installed is far up the wall so the remote is very useful for the shorter people here.
