A: Ok, I installed my set last night. I placed the sidekick washer under the dryer (LG said it was only designed to go under washer) and it works fine. The unit has no need for the top washer, except the back left corner has a switch that senses the washer (or dryer in my case) is on top to allow it to work. If you placed a weight on there or bypassed it, I don't see any reason it would not work stand alone in dorm/camper, etc.
A: The difference is in the width of the unit. The WD100CW is meant to be used with comparable LG washers that are 27 inches wide, while the WD200CW is to be used with comparable LG washers that are 29 inches wide
Q: Can this be used alone without a full-sized washer and stacked alone under a dryer?
A: Yeah, juat secure it. We have it installed on our sailing yacht. There is a "weight" sensor on top, and you can just tape it down. It works great for us. Ours is mounted, so theres no chance of it moving, but in my experience, it doesn't move even if its not secured. Its perfect for us. Sure it's small, but we only wash t-shirts and shorts in the carribean anyways. Definitely overpriced, but oh well.
A: Yes, the hoses have a Y connector that splits the main washer connection into two and one goes to the sidekick.
A: The LG - SideKick 1.0 Cu. Ft. 6-Cycle High-Efficdicated iency Pedestal Washer, Model # WD100CW has its own power cord has to be plugged into its' own dedicated standard 120V/60 Hz household outlet. A 15 Amp Time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended...^IFV
Q: Do you have to use the Sidekick with an LG washer or can it be used with other brands too?
A: There's a switch that needs to be blocked. And it will work.
A: The 16 screws you are referencing is M4 20mm and the 4 screws are M4 10mm. ^CP
A: You can stick this thing under anything. Theres a small button inside the clip on the left hand side. As long as it is pressed down the machine will work.
