I recently got a new computer and decided to rip my entire CD collection to flac files for playback on my main audio system. The built in CD drive was a very fragile feeling vertical loading affair. I didn't have a good feeling about it's durability ripping LOTS of CDs. So I hit the BB site and found the LG. The LG is exactly what I was looking for. Full size, quality feel "old school" CD drive. And it works perfect. No set up, I just plugged in the power and USB and it was ready to go. Windows 10 recognized it as drive F right away . It comes with a "Universal" power supply so you need to snap on the included North American 110vac prongs. What more can I say? Fast rips, fast read, fast burns. It even matches the look of my new Dell desktop.

I bought this because my LC does not have a DVD player. I took home and open the box and found out that the ac adapter was from a other country.y you selling stuff for a other country? You should sell the in-store items for Americans now i have to drive 1hr to the store to return it.

I had to buy this to install some software on some touchscreen pc's. It's perfect. It's fast, easy to use and it's not expensive compared to others I've seen. Not to mention it's LG. Time and time again they've proven be a reliable brand and this case is no different, I've been using it constantly since I purchased it and no issues whatsoever.

I had previous had a different model LG DVD R/W drive and returned it due to not working most of the time and losing a lot of blank CDs and DVDs in the process. I selected this model because it had its own power supply. I have been VERY happy with this unit! It performs at the speed it claims (many other units do not) and I have not had even a single write failure. I also appreciate its speed. My recommendation is to avoid those ultra thin models and to go with this one. Unless you are regularly on the road and are needing an ultra-thin unit, I believe this model will prove to be the best option for your use.

I bought this after the DVD drive inside my computer failed, and it works better than the original, able to burn a full DVD-R in about 5 minutes. I previously had tried a slim portable DVD writer, which was cheaper, but it was much slower and required manual operation of the disc tray. This unit is a little bulky compared to today's computers, and requires an external connection for power, but works very well.

This CD/DVD burner is one of the best on the market. I purchased a Verbatim brand burner at Staples and had to return it. Even though it was stated as being compatible with Window 10, it was not. Software would not install and the burner itself appeared flimsy and cheap. I purchased the LG from Best Buy. No problems at all with software installation and the unit itself is well made. Perhaps a bit large and bulky but I'll deal with that. Was disappointed to find out that you have to pay to upgrade the software for a few additional features, especially for editing. Software that comes with it should be all inclusive with the features. Also decided to purchase the 2 year extended warranty just in case. Overall, I am very pleased with it as well as the buying experience and fast shipping from Best Buy.

Seems to be pretty fast, but sometimes it's unresponsive and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Also the software is only for mac, so yes you can burn stuff from your mac and watch movies with this external drive but the extra software isn't at all compatible with Apple products. So yea, it does a good job when it wants to. It burned an 80 minute long music playlist in just under a 3 and a half minutes. It is much cheaper than an Apple external player.

As most people find out, most computers and lap tops no longer come with a dvd or blue-ray drive in them unless you order it with one. When I went shopping for a gaming computer I found this out, I found one that I really like and the price was right were I wanted to be but no drive, so when I looked at and external drive the LG 24x M drive seem to fit my needs. I haven't used it that much so far but so far I can say it burns disc fast with no problems and play back is great too. It's easy to install and comes with software for windows XP, 7, 8.1 and 10. Give it a try.

I was having trouble playing rental DVDs from my local video store because they attached security strips to the surface of the disc. I had a hunch it was the slim external DVD player thar I had bought so I took a gamble and bought this drive. It is bulky and requires external power but it solved the problem I was having and actually reads and writes pretty quickly if I need to burn a CD. Happy with my purchase.

This product is the perfect companion to a laptop which does not have an internal CD/DVD drive. It has compatibility with many disk formats available today and its performance is fast. It also has its own power source which eliminates possible excess current issues being drawn from some laptop's USB ports.

This drive reads about 2-3 faster than my previous one. But that said it is a lot bulkier, definitely not a device you want to carry around in a bag with you. Plug and play on the Mac worked instantly and so far the only disk it couldn't read was massively scratched. I highly recommend spending the little extra to get this model. That said I haven't written to any DVDs yet so I have no idea how well that works.

it's quiet...it's fast...has it's own power cord...didn't have to install the included software for it to work on my windows tablet

Plugs right in, easy to use. It plays smoothly and is not too bulky.

I had problems getting an external drive to work with my Surface Pro. This unit had the external power source which is needed to work with Surface Pro. Unit is a little larger than I would prefer making it harder to travel with but overall a good working, reliable unit.

Pretty simple - it does what it says it's supposed to do. Zero hassle, and very EZ to set up, even for a tech-dummy like me. Runs quietly, and works efficiently...a solid purchase, especially for the price.

Originally I went looking for a replacement for my computer DVD deck. I saw this and thought, why not... it's cheaper than an internal deck and there's no opening the computer, no wire harness or tiny screws to go missing. Plug it into your USB and power and bam, works like a charm. Actually will read disks that the computer wouldn't. You'll be pleased with its performance and ease of use.

Whenever these external drives go on sale at Best Buy, I always stock up on them. Makes the life of my desktops and laptops longer, since I burn a lot of discs. Back-up files, photos and mixing my own music (yes, I still use CD-r). Great for travel...just pop in your list of favorites and not have to wait while mP3 files shuffle. Hear the songs I want, when I want them. I will buy this again.
