Q: Can i hook the electric dryer hose up myself?

If it is of any help, both this dryer and its matching washer have a height of 38 11/16". When stacked, the combined height will be 77 3/8". The top of the door is about six inches from the top of the dryer so that would place the top of the door around 71 3/8"...^IFV
Q: What is an HE Washer and does it require a different soap?
A: YES you must use HE soap, evidently. This was a big issue with a Bosch machine I had. Non HE soap clogged it all the time. Don't know if it's the same with this unit, which is 1000x better than the Bosch, but I would.
