Coming from a 240hz 32" QD-OLED monitor, I was concerned this WOLED wouldn't live up to my expectations for picture quality, but I must say the color volume and saturation on this monitor doesn't make me miss my old QD-OLED. Also, the 39" is just the right size to be immersive but not overwhelming or nausea-inducing (I tried a 57" ultrawide for a few days but I could not overcome the motion sickness before returning). I also love the 1500R curve, it is there but not too aggressive and coming from a flat monitor, it is the perfect curve to not get overwhelmed. The monitor is also extremely bright (I have brightness set to 70% but I may even reduce it to 50% later), making my other monitors right to next it look dull in comparison. I am running this with a RTX 5090 and while I was concerned about being limited to only 165 hz, I haven't found a game where that has been a problem in actual gameplay. Plus, the wider field of view adds so much additional benefit that make up for the lost FPS ceiling (in my opinion). I always run DLSS Quality when the game I am playing offers that and so my FPS always remains high while my picture quality remains exceptional. Just some examples, at 5120x2160: 40-50 FPS in Marvel Spider-Man 2, ~150 FPS with DLSS frame generation set to 3. 40-45 FPS in Crimson Desert, 140-180 FPS with DLS 4.5 and frame generation set to 4 110 FPS in Dragon's Dogma 2, 165 (capped) with DLS frame gen on. When I am not gaming, I use this monitor for productivity, video editing, and occasional YouTube / TV apps watching. I have no problem reading text on this monitor even with resolution scaling set to 100% and of course, the 21:9 ratio makes video editing so much more enjoyable with the wider screen real estate. I even love the fact that when I put a browser on one half of the screen and watch a YouTube video, the additional width this monitor provides compared to a 16:9 means that the video almost covers the entire vertical length of the screen while only taking up half of the width. The monitor has vent ports on the top (pictured) and an extremely large power brick, but the monitor has never radiated heat that I could perceive while intense gaming or made a loud enough fan noise for me to complain about. I like the monitor stand, but I quickly abandoned it for a desk mount so I could push the monitor back closer to the wall it sits in front of. LG has software called LG Switch (pictured) which allows you to adjust monitor settings (e.g., picture mode, brightness levels, source, dual-mode, AI optimization, etc.) and establish keyboard shortcuts via software, so you don't always have to use the joystick on the back of the monitor. It works well enough but I feel like it is a little sluggish when switching between the picture options and anything else. It also allows you put on "Life Mode" which displays artwork as a screensaver for the monitor or your Google Calendar. I don't think I will use that but I assume some people will find value in it. I don't really have any cons about this monitor. I would say that the bezel around the screen image is slightly larger than most modern displays but its not a big deal because you got 39" inches of real-estate to work with (I added 2 pictures of it side-by-side with a 32" monitor for comparison). I also have no problem with the matte finish of this monitor. In my opinion, I can't even tell the difference between this and my previous glossy finish QD-OLED except when the monitor is off and lights are reflecting off of it. Finally, I do not notice the RGB light behind the monitor at all except with all the lights off in my room.

This is a Gorgeous Display, as it should be for the price. My old 24" monitor died, so I went to Best Buy for a replacement. Looked at displays, OLED really stood out, and THIS was the brightest clearest sharpest most beautiful display in the place by far. Agonized over the price then bought it. After 3 weeks it has been flawless! Picture perfect, easily runs 2 full-sized windows side by side, motion is clean, picture is beautiful, text is crystal clear. Hope it holds up over time. My old Dell XPS PC with NVidia graphic card pushed it fine, but I HAD to get an Asus ROG Gaming Desktop to really push it properly, which it does easily at max resolution of 5120x2160x165Hz. So my 24" monitor replacement cost me $4K, but I LOVE my new system - as Ferris said, "It is so choice, if you have the means I highly recommend picking one up!".

I was running a 42" LG C2 as my desk monitor, I have had it for a few years and after a year of heavy daily use getting started back up in my masters program it started showing uneven brightness on dark backgrounds. I was choosing between this 39" 5K2K and the 45" models; the 39 won for my setup. It's nearly the same width as the C2, and the curve let me push it back into the corner and open the desk up. I raised it to eye level, which gave me room underneath for my Mac mini and drive, and it sits cleanly between my MacBook and iPad on vivo mounts! Text is razor sharp at 5120x2160, which matters because I write and study on it for hours every day, mostly on dark backgrounds. Blacks are true OLED black, and the panel is bright and clean. This monitor is TOP SHELF! Shout out to the manager at the Yuma store. He's taken care of me for five years and walked me through the protection plan options so I bought with confidence. Get the plan if you use an OLED as a daily monitor.

So far it’s one of the best monitors I’ve bought. I have no complaints in. The 4K is real good. It’s duel purpose works very good when watching videos but also very good when I’m playing my games no problem like it very much.

I can’t stand blurry text. You need the pixel density but that’s usually not available for a larger screen. This monitor keeps everything crisp and an Ultra Wide, which is incredibly difficult to find. I could not be happier. I run it in a slightly lower resolution than 4K so that everything can be larger on the screen we still taking advantage of the pixel density and pixel pitch.

I’ve had 2 being defective and the one I currently have I feel as though I’m settling. Which is a hard pill to swallow when spending this much money. However, there’s not comparable on the market…yet. For work and gaming it’s very good, but there are some moments I notice the gray and vertical banding. Which is an issue with tandem oleds. The brightness and picture is great, but text still has some ways to go. Overall it would be 7/10. Should be cheaper and LG needs to fix their QC. When you spend 2K on a top of the line, flagship monitor - you should expect it to be flawless, my experience has been everything but that. Still might return if banding doesn’t get better and something comparable comes out.

For the last week, I've been testing the 39-inch LG UltraGear EVO AI GX9. It's an excellent flagship monitor equipped with a bright WOLED panel, a highly adjustable stand, built-in speakers, and ambient RGB lighting. Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed. Inside the box, you’ll find the display, a two-piece stand, a power brick, and three display cables (USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort). Setup couldn't be simpler, the two stand pieces join with an attached thumbscrew, and the monitor snaps effortlessly onto the mounting bracket. The stand provides a decent level of adjustment. I am able to adjust the height, swivel, and tilt which makes it easy to dial in the ideal viewing height. However, it doesn't pivot into a portrait orientation, which makes accessing the rear I/O ports slightly tougher than with stands that rotate completely. The 1500R curve strikes a great balance of immersiveness for a screen this size, feeling natural and far less aggressive than the steep 800R curve found on previous generations of this monitor. When it comes to picture quality, this display delivers. As a WOLED panel, obviously blacks are predictably inky, colors are vivid and punchy, and peak brightness is noticeably improved over older models. Text clarity is sharp with no visible color fringing. The semi-gloss finish preserves that deep OLED contrast while doing a remarkable job of diffusing ambient room light; while slight reflections can show up at extreme angles, glare is negligible in typical use. The built-in speakers are a welcome addition. At a premium flagship price point, you shouldn't have to source separate desktop speakers, and LG’s implementation sounds surprisingly decent. Around the back, LG included its signature Hexagon Lighting. You can customize static colors or effects through the OSD menu, which adds a nice aesthetic flair-- if the back of your desk setup is exposed. However, if the monitor is placed close to a wall, the LEDs aren't bright enough to provide ambient bias light behind the screen. With that said. It's a great monitor and I can easily recommend it.

My 27" LG flat panel display was starting to show its age (used for 8 years) after recently upgrading to a newer nVidia card, so I started the whole process of researching replacements. I wasn't intending to move into the curved monitor space, simply because of the cost of the higher-end models. In the end, I decided to future-proof and go with this newer release and I'm very happy I did. Amazing display which keeps up with the video card. Vivid colors with built-in features allowing for fine-tuning the display with no artifacts or tearing. Running max resolution on all games I play - Valheim, World of Tanks, Doom Eternal and Astroneer. Even games like Rimworld and Against the Storm look great and I love the vast video real estate this monitor offers. The only downside (other than the price) was the box didn't include a display port cable which is required to run at maximum settings. HDMI does the job, but doesn't have the throughput capacity so you have to run at a lower setting.

It's bigger at home than what you see at the store (pause) but it is very sharp and bright, compared to other OLEDs I've had. I'll probably return it because it is a little too big for what I intend to use if for outside of gaming. QD-OLED is still king, but this panel gives it a run for it's money with some adjustments. You can hardly tell the difference in color but when I put my QD-OLED next to it, I can see some differences, especially in the smaller details. What you need to understand is that this is a 5K display first, so if you have anything less than an RTX 5080, you'll be playing at a choppy >30fps at med high - max setting which defeats the purpose of using this as a sole gaming monitor. I was able to get around 60fps on the new Gears of War E-Day but it would still occassionally get choppy. I ended up dropping the settings to 4K for smoother play. The build quality is pretty solid and not hard to put together at all. Maybe 5 mins tops. One thing I really like is it has internal speakers so I don't have to always power my speakers for things outside of gaming. They are NOT great, but good enough to get work done or do a conference. The curve is not as bad but I can see the lamp "sheen" behind me, and because it's curved, if the light shines on either side, it'll stretch the sheen a little further than what a flat panel would. Overall, I'd recommend this monitor but for the folks that have other things to do with it outside of gaming (ie productivity/creativity)

Beautiful monitor, very bright, much less auto dimming compared to oleds of the last.

This monitor is very immersive and sharp at 39" diagonal and 5120x2160 resolution. I prefer this size and resolution over most 21:9 34" 3440x1440 monitors. Just be aware that this resolution is fairly hard to drive at high framerates, so I would recommend this to someone with a pretty beefy GPU. The HDR is fantastic and I don't mind the matte screen coating.

This monitor has crisp images from one side to the other! Definitely satisfied with the quality and performance. Movies look exceptional and text is also sharp.

I have owned this for a few weeks and let me tell you. I love this monitor. It is the perfect size. Not to big but big enough to feel immersive. The picture and quality of the tandem OLED is amazing. I could never go back to anythng but OLED. Buy it, you wont regret it.

This is an awesome product especially if you have problems with night vision and particular types of color blindness. I highly recommend it!!!

From the build quality to the picture quality, this monitor is it. As a friend jokingly told me one time, this picture looks better than real life!

My previous monitor was a 34 inch ultrawide. I figured I would try something a little bigger and the 5k screen and AI upscaling seemed really intriguing. The screen looks absolutely amazing, but I did have to adjust some of the settings to make it look better. It completely blows my previous monitor out of the water. I really like it. In a bright room there is no glare, and monitor does not reflect the light. It looks phenomenal and colors pop. The AI upscaling is noticeable from HD to 5k. But I can't seem to tell the difference when it upscales from 4k to 5k. My only complaint is I wish it came with a remote. I would love to be able to adjust the settings easier than having to constantly press a button on the monitor, and also there is no easy way to control the volume. When gaming on my ps5 if i want to lower/increase/mute volume I have to go to the monitor and press a button to do it. Just a minor inconvenience. All in all, amazing monitor

I was hoping to finally have found the "All In One" monitor but I'm beginning to think there is no such thing...Although this monitor is amazing for productivity, movies and single player games, it just does not cut it for competitive multiplayer. If your daily lifestyle leans more towards productivity, with a little gaming at night, this might be the one for you.

I previously owned the 45GX950B, and this new model is a huge improvement. The picture quality is noticeably better, the firmware feels much more stable, and many of the little issues and annoyances I experienced with the previous model have been fixed. Everything just feels more polished and refined overall. The image quality is absolutely stunning, and so far I’ve been very impressed with the overall performance and stability. If you can find one in stock, I highly recommend picking it up. You won’t regret it!

I got this monitor mainly for gaming and it makes a surprising difference in the experience. I initially thought that it was just a bigger monitor but have found that I sometimes am saying “Wow” just because of the color and how the story envelopes me. I prefer WOLED screens (which this is) so it’s perfect for me. The only downside is the price. If the Alienware 39” was available and at the price I’m hearing, it would be tough not to go with it even though it is QD-OLED. I like the format, the build, the features, and the gentle curve.

I upgraded from a 34 inch oled to this monitor. The picture is amazing, but its taking a while to really dial in the color. The price is definitely a shocker but if you can afford it, you wont be upset.
