BACKGROUND: I am an over 70-year-old with minor knee joint discomfort throughout the day, with occasional actual knee pain depending on various cardio activities. For the past 4-years I have taken over-the-counter Glucosamine with Chondroitin Supplements with some success for reducing knee discomfort. About 6-months ago, I replaced the G&C with Magnesium and have felt improvement, but still far from 100%. Researching “Red Light” and “NIR” therapies, I thought I would give the Lifepro a workout. QUALITY: Overall, I am very impressed with the construction of the Lifepro Red Light Therapy Panel. All metal casing (verified with a magnet), physically not too small and not too large, ergo a “Goldilocks” footprint size. Long heavy-duty power cord, dual varying speed cooling fans, rear mounted lighted power switch, with an attached tilt bracket. Included is a well thought out mounting pully system to hang over a door allowing for various height adjustments. All good; no negatives encountered. CONTROL PANEL OPTIONS: On the left-hand side, there is the control panel incorporating soft-touch tactile switches for the various settings. A power button that also toggles the impulse light feature. The mode button that will cycle through for Red + NIR (Near InFraRed) mode, Red only mode, or NIR only mode. A timer button that can extend the default 10-minutes. Two lights will designate R, NIR, or both to verity what mode you have selected. Finally, a nice sized timer display. MANUAL: This is a device that I would not recommend using without first reading, and more importantly, understanding the capabilities and limitations of Red-Light therapy. There are also warnings when using this device, primarily eye protection required. To facilitate said eye-protection, Lifepro included two pair of safety eyeglasses. ACTUAL USE! 1) ARM RASH: Just so happens, when clearing out weeds in our landscaping a little more than a week ago, I came in contact with some Poison Ivy that I had mistaken for Virginia Creeper. Got it on my arm, and it developed into the typical poison ivy rash. Figured I would give the LifePro a try… After using the “Skin Health” treatment (Mode-2), the rash was short lived and dissipated much quicker than I had experienced in the past. 2) KNEE PAIN: I have been using twice daily (mornings & evenings) for the past week following the “Joint and Arthritis Pain” treatment option (Mode-3). I just sit in chair, have the unit placed on an adjacent chair, aim the LED’s at my knees, and let the NIR do its thing. And I can honestly state that I have felt significant improvement. Since I have been using the Lifepro, there is no minor knee discomfort during the day, plus I have yet to experience actual “pain” after physical activity. Although at first, I was somewhat skeptical, I am currently very impressed with my treatment results. And I will continue to use this device on a regular basis for joint and possibly other ailments. 3) NEUROPATHY: My wife who sufferers from foot neuropathy has just begun using this device. And I’ll update this review if she experiences positive treatment results. RATING: After using the Lifepro - Red Light Therapy Panel for the past week, it earned itself a solid 5-Star Rating. A quality manufactured device that actually works for my current minor ailments. .

My biggest use case for this red light therapy lamp was for inflammation/joint pain in my knees, fingers and wrist. I've given it a fair shake now and I'm still not fully sold that it's doing anything. It does feel well made and maybe it just needs more time (and I'll give it more time), but for now I'm just not convinced. Setup is simple enough. There's a booklet with a bunch of recommendations as far as distance from the light and which kind of light to use for whatever you're aiming to do. Put on the included glasses, plug the device in, flip the huge red switch on the back and then dial in your settings before pressing the go button. By default the lamp runs for 10 minutes and that is usually the recommendation given per session per area. Options for getting the red light where it needs to go are pretty varied without a lot of extra tools. For some simple things where you can just set the lamp on a table or on the floor, there's a heavy duty kickstand (which doubles as a handle when you carry this around). But there's also wires and a whole hanging pully system included that lets you hang the lamp on a door and then adjust it's height with the pully. Or you can just hang it wherever you need it to be. A lot of options here. The hardest thing to judge is if this thing is working. Because you really only "feel" anything if you get a little too close to the lamp and you feel the heat coming off of it. When doing my hands, the booklet recommended a 4" distance (for inflammation, that's what it recommends) so I was able to feel a tiny amount of heat, but after repeated use, I am not completely sold that my hands or knees really feel any different. They're not worse. But I can't tell if they're getting better yet. Maybe with some more time, things will start to show (and I can leave a comment on this review to update) but for now, I'm just not sure. We're going to be working on some weight loss goals soon so we'll be able to test things out in the near future on that front. My wife will also be able to try it out for some of it's skincare benefits. I'm not overall disappointed I have it, it's just such a hard device to know is doing anything since there's no overnight success or anything. If you're looking to jump into red light therapy and you don't have the budget for this specific one, you could look into some less expensive options to see if things work out for you. If you're already convinced and are looking for a nice at-home therapy lamp, this one might work out well for you.
