The 5.1 system from Bose is made for your music, movies and TV and designed to sound every bit as stunning as it looks. Q: How are the speakers powered?
A: There is a receiver/ power supply box that connects to each speaker and plugs into an electrical outlet. It receives the signals wirelessly from the 650. You will need to locate the speakers within reasonable distance of an electrical outlet and figure out how to run the wires from the boxes to the speakers. But no long runs of wire from the main unit as there used to be. The subwoofer is also wireless and plugs into an electrical outlet. The front and center speakers are hard wired to the 650 unit.
A: You are correct. This is a standalone home theater system that does not require an external amp/receiver to enjoy with your TV setup.
Q: Does Best Buy's Geek Squad install the Bose 650 system?
A: Yes, they did mine.
A: Hi, Peter. Thanks for your question! You can connect the Bass Module 700 to your Lifestyle 650 wirelessly. The 650 will support up to 2 bass modules at one time. You can use the Acoustimass 300 that was included with the system, and add the Bass Module 700. These both offer the same excellent bass response. Please note that in this setup, both bass modules must be connected wirelessly. Neither can be hardwired to the system console. 1. Press "SETUP" on the system control console or remote 2. Choose "Speaker Management" 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup: a. Leave the first/existing bass module connected b. Place the bass module to be added in the desired location c. Connect the power cord to the second bass module d. Wait while the system detects the second bass module If you have any additional questions, our dedicated SoundTouch specialists will be happy to assist you further at 1-800-608-2673. They are available M-F 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern. Thank you, and have a great day! Jesse - Bose Support
Q: On the Bose 650 does it matter if the center channel is mounted above the TV instead of below it?
A: Strictly personal preference. Most audio experts suggest speakers be installed at "ear level" but since the center channel is the main voice outlet, it would be logical to avoid mounting it too high above the TV. Mine sits immediately below the TV.
A: The Lifestyle 650 does not store any music. It streams music from other sources, via bluetooth or wi-fi. It does not have an AM-FM tuner, either, but instead pulls internet radio stations. This actually works well for me, as my local NPR stations are all available, as are other favorite stations from around the country such as WFMT in Chicago. It also streams Pandora, Sirius XM, etc. sources, and you can set 6 stations from any of these sources on presets. You tune the sources on your smartphone or tablet via an app, but once you've tuned in a station, your smartphone or tablet can leave the area and the Lifestyle continues to play that source. And you can use the presets to tune sources with no smart device present. The change reflects the trend to streaming from the "cloud" rather than storing things on local hard drives.
Q: How we can find out bose life style 650 is original or fake. ?
A: Hello Manoj, Thanks for the question. The only way to be sure you’re buying a genuine Bose product is to buy directly from Bose or a Bose authorized dealer. Have a great day! Mohsin-Bose Support
A: No they would need to be different stands. You require the OmniJewl stands!
