We'll deliver, install and make sure your new gas dryer is working. We'll connect it to existing local utilities and outside venting. Additional charges may apply if not up to local code requirements.
- Before we begin: To prepare for installation, clear a path from the street to the laundry room wide enough to accommodate the dryer. Make sure someone 18 or older is present at the appointment time.
- Disconnect the existing unit: We'll disconnect the existing dryer from utilites.
- Connect the new dryer: We'll connect the new dryer to existing utilities and outside venting using a Liquid Propane conversion kit (included) and new vent and gas line kits (sold separately, automatically added at checkout). For front load dryers, we can stack your new dryer with an existing and compatible washer using a compatible stacking kit (sold separately).
- Final steps: We’ll clean up and recycle all packaging and make sure your new dryer is functioning properly. Finally, we’ll answer any questions you may have and let you know how to contact us for future support.
- Purchase haul-away services for an additional fee: When you purchase a qualifying dryer from Best Buy, we’ll haul away and recycle or relocate your old one for you (not included).
- Potential Additional charges: Additional charges may apply for permits required by your municipality, cabinet or counter modifications, and utilities like valves or outlets which are non-functional or not-up-to code. Relocation does not include reconnection.

A: The Gas Dryer Install with Liquid Propane Conversion service includes installation of the dryer, connection to a gas shutoff valve, gas connection with a new gas connector kit (purchased separately), conversion of the dryer to LP, connection of a new dryer vent kit, plugging into an existing electrical outlet, installation/connection to an existing compatible pedestal or stacking kit (if applicable), connection of a new steam hose kit (if applicable), leveling/testing of the unit, and a customer demo.
Q: Does the installation service include connecting the dryer to the gas line?
A: Yes, the installation includes connecting the dryer to a functional, non-corroded gas shutoff valve.
Q: Will the technician convert my dryer to use liquid propane?
A: Yes, the technician will convert your dryer to LP using either the included conversion kit or a kit provided by the installer.
Q: What happens if my gas valve is corroded?
A: Valve replacement is not included in the service and may result in a drop-off only appointment if the valve is corroded or not code-compliant.
Q: How is the new dryer connected to the electrical source?
A: The technician will plug the dryer into an existing electrical outlet within reach of the supplied power cord.
Q: Is the conversion kit included in cost or does it have to be purchased separately
A: Depends on who you ask. When we initially ordered this we were told yes. The installer showed without it and then he said he would order it (he didn't) and come back. Then we called best buy and they ordered it for us as a "favor" but told us we were supposed to order all along. Save yourself the hassle, find someone other than best buy do to this.
