The Lively "Dual-Layer Hard Shell Case "is essential to prevent damage if the phone is accidentally dropped and lands on a corner. The fit is perfect, and an extended rim above the screen prevents damage if the phone is dropped and lands screen down. The screen is quite sensitive around the edges. The solution is that the raised rim prevents finger and palm contact while using the phone. Contact causes annoying screen interference, as I found out before the protector case was installed. After a year of service, the case looks new and has done its job. The screen has no chips, cracks, or scratches. A tempered glass screen protector was also added as a second level of screen control that worked in tandem with the case's raised rim The back of the case provides a recess to protect the lenses, and a combo flash/flashlight. I find this total protection combination OPTIMAL.
