Q: Is a "male to male audio cable" needed in addtion to the shown product speakers?
A: The speakers come with the necessary cords. One male from speaker to computer and another male from same speaker that connects to second speaker.
Q: Can I hook these speakers up to my Android phone?
A: Yes, you could. However, keep in mind that these speakers need an external power source to actually produce any sound. This will give you better quality, but they're not designed to be portable speakers.
A: Your computer probably comes equipped with three jacks for cables. You should be plugging your speakers in to the green one. See my picture for what that looks like. Also make sure that your PC is using the Audio Out as your primary device. If you have a sound card, plug in to that instead and use the Audio OUT jack.
Q: Would these speakers be compatible with an Audio Technica LTP-60 turntable?
A: Yes, these speakers will work with Audio Technica LTP-60 turntable.
Q: Are these speakers and wires shielded to prevent pickup from a modem?
A: No the speakers are not magnetically sealed. I tried them with my Sony professional CRT monitors and they produce magnetic distortion when place near the screen.
Q: Is the plug (not the 3.5mm jack) a usb plugin or a ps2 round plug?
A: Plugins are power chord to an outlet/power strip, 3.5 mm stereo jack plugs into green audio plug on PC I/O
A: The cord is 6', it should work for your purposes. The speakers can sit to either side of the monitor, but not a lot farther.
Q: can I plug these into the headphone jack to my laptop
A: Yes, these speakers can be plugged into any typical 3.5 mm audio jack.
