#MafiaTheOldCountry Game Review @mafiagame Pros: -Good story based game -Great graphics -Good amount of weapon variety -Knife takedown and one shots with a shotty are OP Cons: -Extremely short story, only 10 hours to complete -Clunky combat, and knife fights -No incentives to spend your in game money, its not worth buying the most expensive guns of horses. You pick so many different guns throughout set pieces -character customization is not worth it -Not really an open world map -Ending was dragged out and SUCKED. Summary: I recommend you buy at a cheaper price, wait for a sale. Even at $50 bucks, game is too short. Genre: Action Adventure Hours played: 10 Console: Xbox Series X Rating: 7/10 #RaiderAlex22 #Gamerdad #RaiderAlexGaming #Review #GameReview #xboxseriesx

This true to form! Going back to Mafia definitive edition with a focus on story and characters. Great solid game play and lots collectibles for achievements. I'm glad this game only cost $50, and very underrated game franchise that should get more love.

One of the best games I’ve played this year. In the running with Doom and Indy. The story is absolutely incredible. The graphics are amazing. Gun play with stealth and racing, hands down the best Mafia game! A must buy

I just finished Mafia: The Old Country, and honestly, it’s one of those games that left me conflicted in the best way. On one hand, I was completely hooked by the story and atmosphere; on the other, I often wished the gameplay gave me more freedom. The setting is what grabbed me right away. Instead of the flashy American cities we’re used to in Mafia games, this one drops you into early 1900s Sicily. The dusty streets, the stone churches, and even the way villagers talk and gesture all feel incredibly authentic. Walking through San Celeste felt like stepping into a classic mafia film—almost like playing out the opening act of The Godfather. It’s rare that a game makes me stop just to soak in the scenery, but this one did. The story itself is tight and well-told. You play as Enzo, a miner who slowly gets pulled into the world of crime, and his journey feels believable. It’s not a long game—took me about 11 hours—but I appreciated that. It kept the pacing sharp, with every mission pushing the plot forward. The cutscenes are cinematic, the voice acting is strong, and I found myself actually caring about what happened to Enzo and his family. Where the game stumbles is in the mechanics. The shooting feels good—guns have real kick, and firefights feel dangerous—but outside of that, things get repetitive. Knife duels were fun the first few times, but by the end they felt like quick-time events dressed up as boss fights. The stealth sections can also be frustrating, with instant-fail conditions that pulled me out of the experience. And while the town looks alive, it’s more of a backdrop than a living world. You can’t really interact with NPCs or explore beyond what the missions allow, which makes it feel more like a stage set than an open world. Even with those frustrations, I’d say I really enjoyed the game overall. It’s not trying to be a massive, 60-hour sandbox like GTA—it’s a focused, story-driven ride. If you go in expecting a cinematic experience rather than deep gameplay systems, it absolutely delivers. For me, Mafia: The Old Country was worth the time. It may not reinvent the series, but it nails the atmosphere and tells a story that sticks with you. Final thoughts: Gorgeous, emotional, and memorable—just don’t expect groundbreaking gameplay.

I personally love games that have a great story. I’m not sure if the company intends to do what CDPR is doing right now with Cyberpunk, continuing to add to the game, but I will say that although the story is great, the way the new Mafia game was executed doesn’t add much replay value. The game itself is still an awesome experience, especially if you are a fan of history. You can clearly see that a lot of research went into the development of Mafia: The Old Country, creating a great experience that is totally canvased in historical references. I loved the game itself for those reasons, but I believe they should have made it a bit more open world (like GTA or Cyberpunk) instead of a linear story.

Solid title with a decent story and ok combat, it's enough to get you through if you get it while on sale like I did.

The gameplay is not revolutionary, but it is fun. The story is great. The developer was pretty upfront that the game is pretty straightforward and not bloated with a bunch of random other events in the game. So for that, the game gets 5 stars.
Very good linear game with a wonderful story, but not much to play after its finished.

Well done story about the beginnings of the Mafia. Tight, well done story that hits the sweet spot at about 10-12 hrs, depending. Dont expect guns to be blazing as it's a different time period, but get ready for some early knife fights and horseback riding. You will see some gun powder but later on. Hopefully, this will st up Mafia 4 which would cover 80-90's tume period. Overall, it's a great game and decent price point.
