After his SYLVAN bandmates Volker Söhl and Johnny Beck presented the VIOLENT JASPER project last year, we can now look forward to their frontman's work InchA Fragile PresentInch!MARCO GLÜHMANN composed most of the songs in a kind of frenzy within just a few months, allowing himself to drift freely and casually through harmonies, melodies and lyrics. Only two songs have their origins in the old days InchReach outInch and InchBlack the shade outInch come from songwriting sessions around 2010, the latter even including the original intro from the demo back then. InchThese two songs are a kind of window into my musical past,Inch says MARCO GLÜHMANN, and continues InchWith all the other songs, I let my emotions guide me the vocal melodies are mostly spontaneous ideas, and the lyrics were largely written during the first demo recording, so everything is very personal. InchMarco not only wrote the first single in particular, InchMy eyes are wide openInch, in a very short space of time, but most of the lyrics have also remained the same. InchThe lyric 'Lay your head on me, oh my little boy' still gives me goosebumps, because I imagine myself and my son here and feel the love, the shortness of the moment, but also the responsibility of 'sending' him into this world,Inch the artist continues. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile.
