Mario Golf delivers a great balance of accessibility and depth. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to golf games, the mechanics feel smooth and satisfying. Each course offers unique challenges, and the special character abilities add a fun twist without feeling overpowered. The game shines in multiplayer—both local and online—making it perfect for family nights or friendly competitions. While the single-player mode could be a bit longer, the overall experience is upbeat, polished, and consistently enjoyable.

Pretty solid Mario golf!! Mechanics seem simplified from the last one but actually have a lot going on with regards to shaping your shot. Animations seem downgraded from the last game, but the courses are really nice looking and speed golf is a lot of fun!

I was a huge fan of Mario Golf: World Tour on the 3DS, and considering the same team made this game, I became very interested in buying it. It becomes apparent very early on that this game is unfinished. The beautifully sharp and colorful splash screen gives way to seemingly a different golf game. The courses (of which there are only 5, excluding the practice course) are plain, made up mostly of solid colors to differentiate between rough and fairway, with the occasional low-poly bush thrown in. Very little is done to convince the player that this game takes place in the Mario universe. Hitboxes for hazards, such as trees, are deceptively large and inaccurate. The music sounds more like "muzak" and quickly becomes repetitive. Adventure Mode is a slog. Super shots are not exciting to use. Characters get exactly one outfit, and it's the one they're already wearing. Unlocks consist of two club upgrades per character, which simply adjust stats in favor of drive distance. Presentation of the entire game is lackluster. There is only a hint of fanfare difference between a Birdie and a hole in one -- Luigi does the same little dance either way. The catch, though, is that the core gameplay is solid and fun. The timing-based skillful shot play of the 3DS game has been modified to be simpler to execute, so the challenge comes in way of shaping shots. As your character levels up, the shot power gauge gets divided into more sections, which can be individually shaped via the analog stick. This leads to physically impossible shots that can take sharp delayed bends around trees and cliffs if you want them to. To really nail shots this way feels satisfying. Hopefully, more content will be added to this unfinished game as time goes on, but as it stands, it's an extremely disappointing follow-up to the beautiful and charming 3DS game, which oozed Mario personality at every turn. This game more closely resembles a bad Everybody's Golf competitor with far less content. It's the most un-Mario game I've ever bought.

Great game to play with others. Only gripe is the fact you can't use motion controls for the adventure game mode (story)

Super fun, and cool new modes that make it not just another Mario Golf

Another fun and beautiful Mario game. A decent number of different courses with their own challenges, lots of different modes to try and multiplayer is a blast. If you enjoy Mario sports games this is one not to miss.

I’m not super deep into the game but I can tell it’s one that’s gonna sit on the shelf for a bit while I finish some others. Just like w mario party, it wasn’t until years later that we got the awesome update that we totally needed the whole time. Fun for sure but I wish Nintendo could’ve put a little more effort. Which is why I say it’s a $20-30 game. I should’ve waited.

Super fun game. Nintendo nailed this game. After playing for a while you get to build up the characters which makes it even better. Online and multi-player is great and doesn't take forever like other golfing games. Highly recommended.

It's gold and it's Mario. What could be better. It's a great party game. Invite the friends over and enjoy a couple rounds of Mario Golf. The running to the ball after hitting it adds a little twist that is enjoyable.

I love how you can buy more characters, and unlock maps. It is quite similar to hot shots golf which is super cool I enjoy it.

This game is a ton of fun. Somewhat easy learning curve and great for all ages. My only wish is that they allowed you to modify the difficulty playing against the computer. Online play is decent and will only get better as the game develops.
