The MP500 is a 2-channel, Multi-Purpose, DSP amplifier with up to 500 watts of power on tap. In 2-channel mode it outputs 125w x 2 @ 8 ohms or 225w x 2 @ 4 ohms and when in bridged mode it can output up to 500w x 1 @ 8 ohms. While MP500 can be used to power nearly any speaker, the selectable onboard DSP presets focus on optimizing all MartinLogan Outdoor products, such as the MartinLogan Outdoor Foundation System, and Custom Installation subwoofers. MartinLogan engineers also went the extra step to make sure that the MP500 could even drive dual subwoofers! The following MartinLogan subwoofers are supported by the MP500’s “Dual Subwoofer” DSP presets to ensure powerful and reliable operation: Dynamo IW-S, Dynamo IW-O (with or without Back Box), Outdoor Living Subwoofer 8. With this and many other features, the MP500 is one of the most versatile custom installation amplifiers on the market!
Class-D Power

I'm running an older onkyo 602 reciever wich is powering my martin logan i40 motions , will. This Amp power these speakers better than my onkyo

Sound can be subjective, so it would be hard to say if you personally like it better than your Onkyo, but it does have more power than the Onkyo and should drive your speakers more efficiently. The MP500 is a power amp and you technically don't need a pre-amp, however, it would typically be paired with one because it doesn't have all the inputs a pre-amp would have and doesn't have a remote. If someone had preouts on their a/v receiver or pre-amp, they could use the MP500 with it. Your Onkyo unfortunately doesn't have preouts so you would need another preamp or a/v receiver to work with it. Note, it can still be used without one, but we just wanted to make sure you were aware of the limitations before considering it. I have a Pioneer Elite 7.1 trying to drive martin logon electro motion 300 watt 8" drivers speakers would a martin logan 500 watt 2.0 amp be sufficient for this set up ?.

Its purpose is to be a power amp. Note, there is no remote control and the volume knob acts as a limiter. We only want to mention this depending on your use case as it may not be the solution you are looking for. It will have sufficient power for the speakers though.
