The great Marty Robbins was country music's Renaissance man. He was a successful recording artist, stage performer, actor, author, songwriter, and stock car racer as well. Throughout his career, Robbins recorded country, western, pure honky-tonk, rockabilly, blues, Hawaiian music, calypso and gospel too. But overall he was a prime example of the singing cowboy style. Songs like those on Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs established Robbins as the master of this style of country music. Limited 180-gram clear vinyl with bonus tracks. The great (though half-forgotten) Marty Robbins was country music's renaissance man. Robbins was adept at singing edged rock & roll, while his voice could also take on a confessional and dramatic tone which he used to perform traditional country, or western songs. He had a way of extending the latter genre's melodic beauty and lyricism without ever seeming repetitive. Album Tracks 1. Big Iron 4 00 2. Cool Water 3 12 3. Billy the Kid 2 20 4. A Hundred and Sixty Acres 1 42 5. They're Hanging Me Tonight 3 08 6. The Strawberry Roan 3 27 7. The Streets of Laredo 2 47 * 8. Five Brothers 2 15 * 9. El Paso 4 23 10. In the Valley 1 51 11.
