Is it a short game? Yes but it captures the brutal nature of Wolverine perfectly. Once you learn the fight mechanics the game becomes so much fun. Story was fresh and decent. Graphics are great. I’m excited to see what they do with this in the future.

Wolverine is an awesome game. Loving the new story, combat is nice, all the suits are fantastic. It had a few day one bugs, but come on what game doesn’t. Took me about 17 hours to best it, and another 7 hours to go back through and get the platinum trophy. It might be a short game to some, but it does pack a lot in, James Bond and Indian Jones were about the same time length, and they both were great games.

I took it upon myself to purchase Wolverine despite hearing all the negativity from reviewers. I played the entire game and enjoyed myself immensely. I didn’t listen to the reviews and had a blast. Currently doing new game plus with the skills I learned from my first run. Even got my platinum trophy.

very solid game all around, fantastic visuals, compelling story. where they fall short is the full price for a very short game, they don’t fully understand the characters they’re handling, insomniac is pretty much the worst AAA studio when it comes designing character models. anybody that isn’t a main character looks absolutely terrible, and then there’s wolverine. the real life model looks like a perfect wolverine, and yet his in-game counterpart looks suspiciously like henry of skalitz.

I absolutely loved this game! It was so much fun to play, and I really enjoyed the storyline from beginning to end. I especially loved the dynamic between Wolverine and Jean and how their relationship added to the story. The visuals looked amazing. I had such a great time with this game and would definitely recommend it!

Great game! Just great Beautiful graphics, crazy new origin story take for Logan, i work long hours so i enjoy and appreciate linear games. Doesn't even make sense for Wolverine to have an open world aspect.. he's not Spider-Man. This is a perfect work of art! 10/10!

The reviews about this game were lies, honestly it’s not the best game but it is a good one. It’s a fun game that made me feel like Wolverine, so that makes it worth playing.

Loved the fight scenes and fighting in the trees. Format is a lot like the Spider-Man games, just wish the x button could be used to skip movie scenes.

Story is great and includes a variety of characters that dont waste screentime. Enemies dont play around and can make combat fun.

It's an ok game, not worth $70 more like $40. There was a lot of bugs when I played which is expected for a new game but the story was also short, I got platinum trophy in a week and there's nothing to do after beating the game

Enjoyed this as a Wolverine story quite a bit, but I was so sick of mashing buttons by the end and generally just found the combat less enjoyable than the Spiderman games.

Marvel’s Wolverine (2026) by Insomniac Games is a fascinating paradox of an action game. On one hand, it delivers exactly what it promises on the box: visceral, blood-soaked, M-rated melee combat that perfectly encapsulates Logan’s sheer ferocity. On the other hand, it feels artificially constrained by a linear structure and surprisingly safe narrative choices. While the official Metacritic consensus settled on a modest 77 average, the game frequently hits high notes that make it feel much more like an 88 to 91 score. It is a flawed gem, but one that is well worth your time if you can look past its launch-window bugs and uninspired script. The defining triumph of the game is its stellar, weight-driven combat system. Insomniac did not hold back on the mature rating. Logan moves with animalistic savagery; attacks are sharp, responsive, and beautifully animated. The gameplay loop utilizes a fast-paced parry, dodge, and counter system built around a growing rage meter. Triggering his signature berserker mode turns rooms into an absolute blender of shattered scenery and severed limbs. Kicking off a wall to lunge across an arena, sinking claws into a Trask bodyguard, and tearing through a crowd feels incredibly rewarding. The core mechanics are brilliantly realized, ensuring that simply pushing the buttons to fight never stops being satisfying. However, the world design is the biggest point of contention. For a character whose identity is rooted in wandering the rugged wilderness, the lack of an expansive world feels like a massive missed opportunity. It is hard not to imagine how legendary this game could have been if it adopted the sprawling, choice-driven, atmospheric design of a game like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or the cinematic, tracking-heavy survival elements of Red Dead Redemption 2. Instead of exploring a massive, living map, players are funneled through beautiful but rigid linear levels spanning Canada, Japan, and Madripoor. The story also suffers from an imaginative deficit. With over 50 years of rich comic history to pull from, the writing team largely settles for safe, uninspired superhero tropes and predictable sequel-baiting. Writers in modern gaming have arguably gotten somewhat lazy and unimaginative, and this game is a prime example. Rather than diving deep into the psychological trauma of Logan's past or leaning heavily into the gray morality of Team X and Weapon X, the plot moves predictably through an anti-mutant conspiracy spearheaded by Bolivar Trask and Nathaniel Essex. It is also impossible to ignore the state of the game at launch. Noticeable bugs, minor clipping, visual anomalies during execution animations, and occasional progression glitches frequently broke the immersion. Combined with a relatively short 12 to 15-hour campaign, the overall package feels a bit light on content for its price tag. Ultimately, Marvel’s Wolverine is far better than its critics claim, but not quite as legendary as it could have been. If you want an ultra-violent slice-and-dice epic with top-tier mechanics, you will absolutely love it. But if you are holding out hope for a deep, lore-heavy open-world masterclass, you may find yourself wishing Insomniac had aimed just a bit higher.

Wolverine is a great game! It’s a little on the easy side, but it’s still a lot of fun. I loved the graphics and all the different characters. I just wish the game had been a little longer. Overall, though, it was a great experience and I really enjoyed it!
