I am not far into the game, but overall I like the feel of the way it plays and the story a it has played out so far.

The core combat is surprisingly fun. The visuals on a powerful PC are gorgeous, but it's true about the animation being very ugly and the voice acting (especially for the main character) has to be heard to be believed. Doesn't help that the story is so bad it's not even funny. First Mass Effect where I started just skipping dialogue after a while. But I'm still getting addicted to it. Got it on sale for $30 and don't regret it.

ME:A has so much going for it, like great graphics, amazing combat, a new galaxy, a solid history... BUT Its squanders it all on a weird derivative plot, terrible animations (even after the patch) and hilariously bad dialogue for many characters. Your sidekicks are nothing to write home about except for one. There a re many glitches, with game breaking, missions failing etc.. The crafting system is complicated, have played it for 30 hrs and still dont get it completely. The first 5-10 hrs of the game are too slow and boring, ti does quite a bit fun especially near the end when you get to battle giant aliens. The item scanning quests are boring and totally avoidable. I hope they correct their mistakes with the sequel.

I know you're probably confused on whether or not to buy this game based the wildly ranging reviews online. Any AAA title with a high score of 9/10 and low of 5/10 is going to be polarizing. However, having put some time into it at this point, I can positively say that if you LOVE Mass Effect, buy it. If you are indifferent to the series, wait until a sale or rent it. The gameplay is solid, and it's really nice to be back in the Mass Effect universe. The animations are a huge detractor for me. It's amazing how bad some of the conversations are with the bad lip sync and body movements. I can easily see why people have an issue with this game. This criticism surrounding the character models is very legitimate. However, I always play with CC on, and typically read what people are saying anyways rather than watch the faces. The universe here is huge. I honestly think that once all the drama surrounding the game dies down, it will be regarded as a decent entry into the franchise, but an extremely rocky one. A lot of people use Dragon Age Inquisition as a comparison and I think it's fair. I am running this on an i7 6700 and GTX 1070. Game runs beautifully with no performance issues. Again, if you love Mass Effect, buy it. If you don't, wait for a sale or rent it.

Everyone compares this game to the original ME trilogy and it's not really a fair comparison. It's not called Mass Effect 4, it's Mass Effect Andromeda and it works. The game is fun and plays well on my GTX 1080 at 1440p. I've had no issues keeping it above 60fps (although not much higher) at Ultra settings. Story is a little weaker than the ME Trilogy, but it feels way more hopeful than any other ME game. I feel like maybe there's a chance that I'll make a huge change in the universe and not just hope that I don't die. Also, the voice acting seems to grow on your or get better after the 10-15 hour mark, so don't despair. At around $20 this is a solid buy.

As my summary states I am a "first time to the franchise" player of Mass Effect. I am definitely enjoying the story line and the interesting places you visit in the game. Overall the graphics are superb. One thing that is bothering me is the frantic pace the game sets. Each quest completed seems to unlock 10 more and all appear to have to be done immediately. I like to take my time exploring and enjoying a game, not rushing from one quest to another. I have found that I can choose the quests I wish to work on first, but this appears to have prevented me from finishing others and there is no warning when this occurs. A little guidance would have been a good idea.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series in the past (Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3). There are certainly issues with this title (some facial animations are a bit out there, and there are bugs), but overall I enjoyed the game. The combat is definitely improved upon, and I found the side missions compelling enough to complete most of them while trekking along the main story line.

This is the definitive version to get. I was disappointed with some of the bugs on the console version so I picked this up. The game looks and runs great at 4K and most of the bugs haven't been an issue. I am really enjoying the game now and the story is starting to get it's hooks into me.

I have played all the Mass Effect games, so I always keep buying them. I didn't hate 3 as much as everyone, and LOVED the multiplayer(probably 300+ hours into it on PC/PS3 combined). With this one, I have put about 40 hours into multiplayer on PC and about 15 hours into single player on PS4 Pro and think the game is pretty good still. The story is pretty bad, the facial animations really ARE that bad, but the game is still fun to play. I enjoy the combat(though not a huge fan of the dumbing down of skills ot the point you get 3 only available). I assume they will iron out issues and bugs as we go, including being able to skip the planet landing/launching animations and such. But I still think the game is worth playing for sure. As for multiplayer, it is awesome. I miss the enemies of 3, but I enjoy the new ones. Though the balancing on them is not very equal. One of the enemies is MUCH MUCH easier than the others, so most games you join will have them chosen. I hope they balance that because it is nice for variety. Would love to see the tons of free DLC they did with ME3 include the previous enemies or an option for them. If you enjoyed ME3 multi, you will enjoy ME4 multi.

On PC, graphics look great! Animations are a little weird, but not a lot of game time is spent in conversations. There's a ton to explore, so if you like that experience, this might fit the bill! Reminds me a lot of Dragon Age Inquisition in Mass Effect. Lots of things to check off the map!

As far as performance goes: -The game runs well at 1080p, and decently at 1440p. However, 4K was constantly giving me issues in cutscenes that forced me to turn it off despite my build being able to play 4K just fine. -The game did crash every now and then, although it was more common on Havarl then anywhere else. -The last time I played it was back during 1.08, and for the most part I did not run into too many bugs, although there was one that did pop up where a enemy was supposed to go to a second part of a fight and did not, and forced me to restart. Overall, it isn't the worst game ever, but the story itself is lackluster and the game really dropped the ball harder then 3.

What can be said that hasn't already been mentioned many times over before about this game. It was NOT ready for release when it was launched. You can blame the developer, you can blame the publisher, but in the end, it your hard earned money your putting up to play what should have been a "AAA' 2017 title. I have faith that things will get better as the animations, bugs, and menu systems get patched and tweaked over time, and the game is more that playable, and definitely is worth picking up if your a fan of the Mass Effect Universe, just not at full retail.

So it's not ME2, but it's still a very playable and good game. Missions can be a little grindy if you're a hardcore 100% type, but the main missions are engaging and decently thought out. I've played all the other Mass Effects and this was definitely better than ME3, but it doesn't hold a candle to ME2. Take it for what it is, but for under $20 this game provides a lot of value.

Good game so far. By no means perfect, but its a fine addition to the mass effect franchise. Silly walks and facial animations right get to you if you pay attention to it to hard. But combat is fantastic, and theres a ton of content. Solid title

Andromeda has some great control features in-game and has a high level of polish with texture and detail. The character and weapon upgrade menus are detailed and complicated. Sometimes I had no idea what to do or what I should do. Its kinda left up to the player and a "hope for the best" attitude. The game is a bit more linear than I expected. You can explore quite a bit but there are obvious limitations. There are tons of side missions and some ambiguity to whats next or the goal. Sometimes it seems like you have to socialize more than necessary to get certain information. I love the fighting dynamic and the upgrade special weapons and booster rockets. Andromeda is a pretty thing to look at and an enjoyable experience.

The game was interesting enough. The graphics for the cut scenes were spectacular. This was the developers attempt at open world and for the most part it was pretty good. Lots of re-spawn locations which I found tiresome after awhile. Regarding the main store missions there were essentially 4 types of boss fights. Once you figured out the pattern necessary to defeat them they became routine. The main missions got away from the open world concept. Over all the game is worth playing and can provide hours of game time. It just starts to get repetitive after about 12 hours.

While this review may be a bit premature, as I'm less than 20 hours in, I will say that this game has been great so far. The graphics and open areas are fantastic, and I love the new system for the decisions you make. I'm looking forward to how that will have an affect on the game later. There is a lot to like in the single-player, and the new Strike mission element is cool too.

After playing the original trilogy I had a high expectation for this game as the series is great. Unfortunately this game didn't produce the same quality that came from the originals. While still good it just wasn't the same.

The game play is super fun and smooth on higher end graphics cards. Most of the bugs were fixed out. Fun storyline and good characters.

Fast moving storyline with good graphics. Similar to previous Mass Effect games but unique in its presentation.
