Great home use laser engraver for hobby and personal usages. The engraver is well made, the building quality looks great. I like the green cover and make it a good addition next to my 3D printer. It is great for engraving wood, plastic or soft metal. The size is good for name tags, small home decorations, and school projects. The present parameters are good for starter projects. The hardware set up is pretty straightforward, the software (including the app) take some time to work out. After that, the machine is ready to use and it takes minimal time to start for each project. Overall, I think it's great as the first laser engraver for teenagers (make sure they understand the safety protocols) or for folks who want to make small items.

I tried out the Mecpow M1 engraver, but honestly, it was more trouble than it was worth for me. The machine itself is compact and reasonably safe-looking — Mecpow advertises it as FDA Class 1. But setting it up felt way more complicated than it should be. The software was confusing, especially getting it to sync properly (even though the spec sheet says it supports MKSLaser, LightBurn, and more). I spent a ton of time tweaking settings like power, speed, and focus, but never felt confident about getting clean cuts or engravings. It’s not a super powerful unit — the diode laser comes in 3.5W or 5W versions. That’s fine for very light work, but for anything a bit tougher, it struggled. Also, I saw other users on Trustpilot mention issues too, like fans not working right or firmware quirks. In the end, I decided to return it. Not because it was completely unusable — it can work — but because the setup and reliability just weren’t worth the headache for me. If you’re very patient, maybe it’s okay. But for a smooth, no-fuss engraving machine? I wouldn’t bet on this one.
