Low-Tech Person - Enthusistic User of Device

I am the opposite of early adopters - by the time I use something, I want there to be few and easy to follow instructions. I didn't know what to expect as none of my friends or family had a VR headset (it was a gift-like receipt). Set-up doesn't get easier for anything! Once the Quest 2 was turned on, it immediately launched the set-up and interactive tutorials to learn more available features (I suggest doing all the tutorials: they are short but teach a lot of features that I ended up telling my more tech savvy friends about - like the voice activated controls). If you are looking for technical review, I'm not the person for that. But my experience is that from unboxing to using a LOT in many ways is fast and easy. I have also sweated on, dropped controllers & headset, and sent many mixed messages via voice controller, and all have been resolved directly (again, I am pretty low-tech, so perhaps I am not exploring the 'edges of what's possible', but I also already have a job and other hobbies so am only using this for entertainment). Since I still live more of my life IRL, I have only been using the headset for VR fitness apps, but EVERYDAY since I downloaded the games (I think that game developers have made games more engaging and immersive because the expectation is high due to price of VR headset. When I tell folks that I have a Quest2 and that I use it, folks have been telling me how they use theirs and that has introduced me to other ways I can use it (VRChat and games where I can hang out with folks who live far away, recorded concerts, etc).

Still the gold standard for MetaVerse VRheadset

The Quest2 have been unchanged for a while - that said, there are no contenders to the best metaverse headset. I own the quest pro - however for sports and stuff like beatsaber the quest2 with the full-contact face mask is the ticker.

Has a few issues but I love it.

I love it, I just wish it was more comfortable to use. I wear glasses half of the time and they don't fit in the VR even with the spacer. The unit with strap makes it very front heavy and the strain is uncomfortable. I noticed after a session of VR, the tip of my nose was purple. Either something rubbed wrong or circulation was cut off. These issues aren't bad enough to stop me from using my unit though. There is so much to experience with this and it's ever changing!! I loved that I could watch a concert showing at Horizon Venues and feel like I had better than front row seating. Some of the games are so realistic, like Real VR Fishing, it's like actually being there!

    A very good choice

My son has the Valve Index. I chose to try this instead. The Index is technically more advanced, but 3.5x the price as well. This Quest 2 is a very good introduction to VR and I am not out that much money if I find I am prone to motion sickness (so far I am not) or get bored of it after a while. I like that I can use it anywhere without wires tethering me to a computer, nor does it need to be limited to a single room due to external sensor placement. This unit is great used stand-alone, and even more impressive when "tethered" to my computer with the Oculus Link cable for more advanced processing power. Lot's of options is a good thing...but a little steeper learning curve as well. I would be surprised if anyone was not impressed when they tried this thing out.
