It was a necessary adapter for installation in my car. I will say that when I purchased the car stereo that required this adapter, the sales associate did not order this adapter, so when we having the stereo installed, the installer had to order it and we had to come back a few days later. The installer did install it quickly--like in a matter of minutes.

I had to buy this adapter to replace an OEM radio in a 2010 Subaru Forester. The new radio works just fine, so the adapter must have worked well for the BB installation tech who installed the new radio.
