Found the product fairly easy to install. Allowed me to upgrade my stereo system in my Ford Escort without having to pay a professional installer, however the tech support people (installers) at Best Buy were able to guide me over the phone at one area where I had difficulty-Thank Goodness for Best Buy employees!

Dash kit is nice but does not fit well. Adjustments to be made. The person that does the installation is very nice and helpful and wants to make sure the customer is happy with the service.

I bought this for my 1997 Ford escort. In order to put it in you need to dremel down a few edges behind the radio. (This will never be seen even if you put back in the stock radio.) Once you dremmel it down you must take the heating system connections from the back of your factory radio and screw them to the back of this bracket. I would strongly recommend having geek squad install this because it is hard to put in but once it's in it looks great, well lit, and its a lot better than similar cheaper brackets that have stickers for the colors instead of painted in like on this bracket. The radio slides right in and it all looks amazing. All in all its well worth the cost and I'd reccomend this to anyone.

Unfortunately there are not many options available for an Escort ZX2 and one of these kits is needed for a clean install. The instructions for this product are not very clear and if you buy one let Best Buy install it for you. There is one clip for the hot/ cool mix knob that is very short (because it is a cable not a wire)and upon removing the factory radio needs to be disconnected first. It is possible to do this but you can only pull the factory radio out enough to see this clip. The instructions also show that a small tab needs to be cut, however my vehicle looked nothing like the diagram. After removing nearly all of the plastic except for where the clips hold the kit in it still did not fit correctly. I have advanced install skills and ended up making new clips to hold the kit in. The Metra 99 5720 kit is Not for a novice installer. I will only recomend this because there are not many options but I know this one could cause installation problems.

This instalation kit should cost about $20.00 not $70.00 very poor quality. Unit does not fit dash nicely, no comparision to factory fit. Not tight in dash either moves around easily.
