Terrible viewing angle
I purchased this dash kit along with a Kenwood DNX 574S double-DIN unit for my daughter's 2009 Honda Civic. Best Buy installed both and did a fine job however the Metra dash kit opening makes the unit sit so horizontal (as opposed to angled forward) that the screen is virtually unreadable in daylight. It was so bad that I bought some black heavy paper from a craft store and fashioned a "visor" that my daughter could slip into the DVD slot. That helped but made it awkward getting to some of the controls. Still, it was absolutely necessary. Later I purchased a Kenwood rear view camera which Best Buy also installed. I had an opportunity to use my daughters car and I noticed the camera picture was so dark it was almost useless. I found it was better if you scooted over and up so you were looking straight on to the screen which was difficult at best. The Kenwood unit even allows you to set the viewing angle and even at its best setting the screen was washed out. I wanted my daughter to be able to get the full use out of her electronics so I did some research on better angled installation kits. Several people said the Scosche HA1561 had a better angle so I purchased one. (Best Buy doesn't carry that unit so I had to purchase it elsewhere.) It does indeed have a better angle. The bottom of the Kenwood unit sits back an additional 1/2 inch which makes the unit more upright and less susceptible to glare. The screen is brighter and my daughter is much happier. I trimmed down my homemade "visor" so she could still use it but she doesn't think she'll need it. I uploaded a picture showing the Metra unit on the left and the Scosche unit on the right. You can see the difference of the bottom mounting point. The Scosche unit is 1/2 to 5/8 " deeper at the bottom. While the Metra kit fits fine, the viewing angle is a showstopper.

Looks almost OEM, but not a perfect fit
Looks like my stock dash, but is not perfectly flush and the AC buttons feel a little stiff and are harder to push. It was also a PAIN to install because of the tight fit, but overall a quality product that is as advertised.

Great
Fit great and looks stock. Only problem is the radio faces to far upwards so display is hard to see.

It fits, but that's about it
It fits (fitted) in my 2007 Civic, but that's about the only good thing about this bracket. If you want to see what is playing on the car stereo, good luck! Metra had designed this bracket without changing the angle of the stereo mount. Essentially speaking, the head unit is aimed towards the sun, and you can only see diddly squat. If you are looking for a bracket for an 8th generation civic like this, go with the Scosche made bracket instead.
