I used to leave my laptops on because of the boot time in loading just the start up items. So far I have installed 4 graphic design software and still no lag in booting up. Also, camera is much better than its predecessor.

I purchase the 2017 SP m3 model as a secondary, mobile computer. In my opinion, it is slightly overpriced at $799, but if you have any discounts (college students, educational discount, best buy reward points, birthday coupon etc), then it may be worth it, depending on your usage and the final price you pay. For me, I just wanted a capable, professional mobile machine that I could throw in a case and not have to worry about, taking it on-the-go stress free, and I got this machine at an unbeatable price from Best Buy. The m3 model is perfectly find for Office applications, video streaming (even at 4K), mobile internet use, eBook/PDF viewer, and light computing tasks. It can do some basic video and photo editing and even some light gaming, but is not meant to replace higher performing systems for these tasks, particularly for demanding games or significant content creation. The system is passively cooled and has never overheated in its operation during my time with it. It is whisper quiet, no fan noise whatsoever (obviously--- since it is fan-less). The display is bright and crisp. I keep the display at a comfortable 60% brightness - more than enough, even in a bright room. The 128 gb SSD is adequate, since there is room to expand (SD slot, standard USB 3). The RAM, at 4 GB, is sufficient for My major complaint is that there is significant backlight bleed along the bottom edge of the panel. You will not notice it in daily use in landscape mode while the taskbar is up. In a fullscreen scenario where the bottom edge is bright (or in portrait mode, for example), the backlight bleed is pretty bad. The other thing I would change about this is that it still feels slightly heavy for one-handed use, but that is a trade-off I am willing to accept in exchange for the bigger battery and for quality internals and specs. Speaking of battery: The battery life for me averages around 8 hours with moderate usage, and my battery report shows a design capacity of 45 kWh. Not bad, Microsoft. Overall I love how small, light, and sleek this computer is. It suits my needs as my go-to, mobile, secondary machine. In a perfect world, it would last a little longer, weigh a little less, offer more ports (translation: USB-C with thunderbolt 3), have greater performance, etc etc... but these things all add cost, and that's where you have to decide-- will the device suit my needs? Is it worth the price? Ultimately it's up to your judgment whether this is a fit for you.

I bought this surface pro for my wife for her birthday, because she was looking for a PC/Tablet that had MS Office capabilities. To my surprise, this met all the requirements that my wife had. The cost was reasonable. I was also able to get a keyboard on clearance which saved me a few bucks. Overall she has had this for about a month and there are no complaints about it. She is able to take it to work and use it at work and at home with ease. I would recommend this product to others.

I have really enjoyed all the Surface Pro tablets I have used. They are fast and this new version has even more battery life and no fan noise. Definitely recommend!

I am sure this computer is not for everyone but if you know what you are going to use it for, this is a very good alternative to tablets at the same price range. Here are my thoughts of some of the characteristics I like with the surface. Design At a glance the design is the same as the early models of surface, but this model is lighter, thinner, and quiet (because its fanless). The kickstand also improved-now you can prop your tablet in any viewing angle down to almost flat to the surface. Screen The screen is superb. Very clear and sharp. The resolution is higher than most laptops and tablets. Speed The tablet/laptop is responsive and fast enough to handle everyday tasks such as surfing the web, reading news or email, or to run microsoft office applications. I use my surface mainly for drawing/sketching and it works perfectly fine. If you require to run those resource hungry applications, I would suggest get the higher processor, higher ram models. Windows 10 I've been using other OS platform for years and I can say Windows 10 is very neat and awesome operating system. I really like this version a lot better than previous windows os. You can also pair this computer with your phone (apple or android) to receive notifications and messages. Battery Life My main usage of this unit is for drawing, watch videos and playing games. I get 6-8 hours before charging is needed. For me this is not bad. I chose surface pro from the other popular brand tablets for some reasons; Versatility - I can use as a tablet or as regular laptop and I also have the ability to install any windows software available as long as requirements are met. Expandability - Surface comes with 128 GB storage and I have the option of adding up to 512gb sd card. Price - When I got my Surface Pro M3 128 gb storage 4gb ram 12.3 inch screen , it has a better price than the branded tablet with 64 gb storage 4 gb ram (i think) 10.5 inch screen with price tag of $649. I hope this review helps.

It’s a compact, versatile laptop. It’s light-weight that it’s so easy to carry when I travel. I like using it in tablet mode whenver I feel like dribbling notes or sketching... and in laptop mode whenever I browse and surf. Great battery life and it’s quick charging. I bought mine at a deep discount and it’s really value for money. Love it.

very handy. Mine doesn't have a great deal of horse power, but handles word well, internet needs fine, and extremely portable. Former macbook user, overall I like this better. However, I did have to upgrade to a larger surface to produce videos when our church closed for live services at the start of the pandemic.

I love that I can just slip this in my purse--and it doesn't take a huge purse because this is so compact. Bought one after my Dad got his and loved it! So much to offer in this compact, slim unit!

I bought this for my son to use a college.I asked around before I made the purchase and got mixed opinions for different users. My son has been using it for a couple months and he absolutely LOVES it! As I don't use it the 5 Star rating is his opinion and he's had several tablets and laptops over the years,so he knows them all!

Use it for college. It's easy to use, small enough to carry but large enough for good graphics. Definitely recommend.

Had been watching the Surface since it first came to market back in 2012-13. Needed something lighter and smaller with full functionality as a notebook. This was it. Got it as a Deal of the Day offer. Have not regretted it.

The usefulness of the surface pro cannot be overstated. The only caveat would be the relative ease with which it can be overwhelmed, but I do use a lot of processor and memory to run many applications at once. It works well and I would recommend the purchase.

This surface pro is a big improvement compared to the previous version, Surface pro 4. The battery life is great with 12+ hours. With the new pen, taking notes becomes much easier.

Purchased for the wife for Xmas. I'm a little jealous since my laptop is a bit dated compared to this one. Will definitely be picking up one for myself

Navigating on different web based platforms is still a little slow, but overall function is good. I wish there was better use of the pen attachment - too many hoops to go through with not a lot of benefit.

I love the size of this computer. I ordered it online and it came within a week. You have to order the keyboard separately. Easy set up and I was good to go!

Got this one to replace one that got broken. So easy to pop into a bag for trips that you don’t want to take a bigger laptop on.

It is the perfect blend of a tablet and laptop. My daughter uses it for college and it has exceeded expectations.

This product has really helped me to stay organized and study more efficiently. I'm really impressed with its user-friendliness and display. I've been an Apple user all my life so I was hesitant about the transition, but it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. My favorite aspect so far is being able to write/annotate/highlight on web pages and save them using Microsoft Edge.
