I needed a Windows device with a tablet form factor, and the Surface Pro 8 does not disappoint. As a casual user, it offers everything I need for work, school, and entertainment. I chose 8gb of ram to save money, since I do not need this device for 16gb ram tasks. As a multi-OLED, 120hz device owner, this IPS display has fantastic resolution and colors (I recommend setting system font size to 125% to make text a little easier on the eyes). Battery life is solid for my needs; I also limited processor speed to 80% and use 60hz to save extra battery. Surface keyboard is solid, tactile, and back-lit (coming from the Galaxy Tab S7+ keyboard, this one is more premium). I love the chargeable Slim Pen 2 slot on the keyboard. Using this device on my lap isn't as bad as I predicted; kickstand and keyboard are sturdy enough to rest on my legs with minimal wobble. The webcam is excellent (1080p, 5MP) which is a must nowadays for video calls. The device overall feels durable, but I am definitely getting a case for protection and peace of mind.

Amazing! This is the fourth service device I’ve had the last three provided by work. The sound larger screen and clarity of the new screen is the best yet. The integrated pan that charges in the keyboard cover is also superior to the previous generation.

It’s awesome!! I got this for my wife as a laptop replacement. It’s that and so much more. What I really love is the feel of the quality. It feels like it’s tough and can withstand anything. My wife attempted to test this when she dropped it from about four feet onto our hardwood floor without a case. It was fine. The speed is amazing and with the surface pen it opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. I highly recommend this. I also bought the keyboard cover and 5 in 1 adapter which plugs in to the side of the surface. It has the following ports. USB-A (2.0) USB-A (3.0) USB-C HDMI MicroSD slot

Best 2in1 laptop handsdownn!!! Has a pen storage right in the keyboard, has everything you can possibly imagine a laptop or an ipad to have. Great for school. Cannot recommend this one enough

I love the surface line, I wanted a surface studio laptop but this finally dropped in price so I had to grab it. I use this for med school, i was in IT and comp sci for 10 years here is my experience with the surface devices. (Applies to the 2022 models) Uses easily expandable storage, Ram can not be easily upgraded. "HDR" the display is not up to quality for HDR viewing yet uses dolby vision. 100% windows 10 and 11 compatable. The slim pen works as well as my drawing pens and tablets. 2 usb-c just doesnt feel like enough IO Dificult to use with a keyboard in your lap. Display has average contrast and brightness levels.

I personally think it’s great for the price in comparison to other’s like it. It computes like a laptop seriously with the form factor of a tablet am is fairly light. Love that. Mine has the i5 core so it’s pretty slick as long as you’re doing regular tasks. If you’re into gaming I’d recommend the i7 core version as this one struggles just a bit to keep up. Nothing an external gpu can’t handle though. Definitely would recommend getting a case and screen protector. Battery life seems average but I’ve never had it die on me as long as I charge it fully once a day. Heavy use will require you keep your charger nearby.

Fast, easy to set up, portable and excellent for travel. Great for grandkids who wake up at 5am too.

It’s a very practical device and it’s very useful as both a laptop and a tablet. I don’t know if it’s just my internet but sometimes it freezes a lot

This is the Surface Pro that really can be your all-in-one device. The new Surface Pro 8 is a major upgrade from the Pro 7. The screen size is bigger, up to 13 inches from about 12. And, the screen is gorgeous with its new 120 refresh rate (although you need to manually set it). This screen is vividly bright and sharp, as good or better than the high-end iPad Pro. The new keyboard is stiffer than the old model, providing more stability and a laptop feel. This Pro 8 is basically a sleek Surface Pro X chassis with the power of an Intel 11 chip and a full Windows 11 operating system. The speed and performance is beast like. This is probably the best 2-in-1 device on the market. The only issue with the Surface Pro 8 is the price. One can find the same specs for less money. But is the Pro 8 worth it? I say yes. This is the perfect device, especially if you value portability and/or do a lot of traveling.

We love our Microsoft Surface pro. It has been a great addition as our personal computer. the touch screen makes it so user friendly and the weight and design of how it props up for use is perfect to take to meetings, travel, and while lounging on the couch. I highly recommend this product.

Great device! Thus far the surface has been the one for me, if you are into light to moderate work i.e Microsoft office, web browsing, video streaming etc… this is the device for you. There is plenty of space (256gb) to maintain your important files the speakers sound amazing for what they are and the battery life is more than enough to get you through a days worth of work. I know some people are into photo and video editing but since I’m not I cannot speak to that aspect. Compared to my Surface laptop 2 which I had prior this is a bit heavier but still has that nice premium feel to it. It is very versatile with or without the keyboard and pen, although if you plan on using it as more than a tablet they are a must! (Great quality btw) The pen works extremely well and I love the shortcuts built in. It is really responsive and feels natural in the hand. I’ve only heard the fan kick in once which was when I was playing a video game on it. The device did get a bit warm at that time. I think if you’re a heavy gamer you would want to take that into consideration. I myself rarely play so it’s good enough for me. If I had to ding it somewhere it would be the reflectiveness of the screen in outdoor settings. While the screen does get bright it is still difficult to see what you’re doing at times. Overall, great product and device. Microsoft 11 works well and I really can’t complain. It just works. If Microsoft put an anti-reflective coating on the screen and offered the keyboard/pen as a bundle I think they would have a serious contender on their hands.

Light weight, portable and great quality. It does everything I needed it to do. And is easy to use, i dont have patience for complicated technology. Although i purchased to upgrade from previous model, and have always used micrsoft. I stand by the microsoft surfaces are always a quality safe choice and They have awsome customer service support too! The battery lasts a very long time and charges quick.

Absolutely love this laptop, its not the most powerful thing on the market but for the price its definitely reasonable. Haven't had a single issue with it the touch screen is responsive and accurate. the image quality is great with great brightness. overall good battery life.

Great sound from the speaker. I like the Surface. This is my third one. Love the size, weight, portability, the fold back and removable cover. The biggest negative is the price. But again, I am a repeat purchaser.

From the start, I've been a Surface Pro fan. From the surface pro 3, 4, then 6, I have always been a fan of the high resolution screens, compact yet comfortable type keyboard, and slim, high quality construction. As the years went on, I did feel that the large bezels were becoming more and more dated, and with more recent smart phones and gaming monitors sporting higher refresh rates, I came to avoid using my surface pro 6 in favor of mt smart phone and it's high resolution, high refresh rate screen. With the announcement of the surface pro 8, I knew things were about to change. Thinner bezels, larger screen, same footprint, and of course that gorgeous 120 hz display were game changers. I pre-ordered on day 1, and having used the surface pro 8 with (sold separately) the type cover, I cannot say I was disappointed. Body: New aluminum instead of old magnesium means heavier, but more solid construction. The weight is a bit more than previously, but still light enough to hold on your laptop in tablet mode and browse the internet in front of the tv. Light enough to fit into a nice slim bag and carry around to work or the coffee shop alike. Construction, as always is solid and leaves nothing to be desired. The kick stand is as stiff and reassuring as always. Display: The bulk of the improvements are in the screen. Surface displays have always been higher pixel density than their contemporaries. The Surface Pro 8 offers the same impressive pixel density as before, only now covers a larger area, with smaller bezels, and with a 120Hz display. I can honestly say that the 120 Hz display is the single greatest asset any laptop can have, as long as resolution and specs are otherwise decent. Even scrolling around Facebook, writing emails, or zipping around Windows 11 are an absolute joy with the higher refresh screen. Viewing angles are very good, though maybe not as wide as an OLED screen. Contrast ratio is very good for an LED display. Having played around with the recently released Samsung Galaxy Books with their OLED screens, I can definitely say that this display is FAR superior to that one, with or without OLED. the refresh rate and resolution are easily the most important aspects of any display. As for the touch screen, it is responsive as always, no complaints. Battery: I tend to use the Surface Pro 8 in short bursts, either a few hours at the coffee shop or in front of the TV, then back onto the charge. At the full 120Hz refresh rate along with high brightness (which I tend to use more often than not), I got maybe 3-4 hours out of the machine. I am more interested in the experience than the endurance, though needs may vary. Keyboard: Though the tablet-style use case has improved with the new Surface Pro 8 alongside Windows 11, the keyboard is still generally a must for most productivity. The Surface keyboard Pro (or whatever it is called these days) continues to be the best option. Backlit keys, satisfying action, good key travel, I have absolutely no complaints. Software: Windows 11 makes it's introduction with the new Surface line. I had been using the Windows 11 beta for a few weeks, and the last few updates has brought the beta in line with release day functionality and stability. At first I didn't particularly like the new start menu, and frankly it doesn't really add much to the mix, but the core of Windows has always been ease of use. I have my most frequently used apps and website on the start menu, about 8 or 9. and nothing else. The recommended apps section on the bottom is entirely useless to me, and it seems many feel this way as well. I am hoping that they give us the option to completely remove the recommended apps area, and instead allow us to put a few of the (admittedly decent) widgets there instead of leaving it a big waste of space. Otherwise, the interface is snappy, responsive, and doesn't really leave me wanting much more. As for the widget section on the left of the screen, it is reasonably functional, but again I'd much rather have a few key widget in the start menu and nothing more. Windows generally has been a good way of accessing apps, files, and website, and it is no different with Windows 11. Conclusion: The Surface Pro 8 is a nearly perfect Windows 11 computer. Portable, light weight, powerful, sturdy, and somewhat well priced for the specs. The high res, high refresh rate display are game changing, and I think competing hardware makers (dell, hp, lenovo) have a long way to go before they can compete dollar for dollar with the Surface Pro 8 Marco

After purchasing a Lenovo (beautiful screen & machine) it was too heavy to use as a tablet. I was leaning toward a Samsung 360 but after talking with BestBuy Geeks, they steered me to the Surface Pro 8. As a full blown Win 11 machine yet also, the ease of simply removing the keyboard to "tablet" is simple. It is pricey but you're getting much more than a tablet. Accessories are expensive but there are aftermarket options. The last small negative, some apps will not work in the same way but work arounds are easy enough going to the full website.

I use mine for art and for streaming to keep an eye on my streams. It's a great product and a good size and easy to use

This Surface is very fast and easy to use. Set up was simple. I've had 4 Surface Pros and this is the best. I chose the pick up option at the store and that couldn't be easier. I am using a Brydge keyboard for the first time to get a more laptop feel with its hinges. It also saves a few bucks. I do miss some of the flexibility of the standard Surface keyboard. It also adds some weight. Ice been impressed with the battery so far.
