I had a hard time picking out a new laptop--I've been using a Surface Book 2 for the past 5 years, and I have a bit of a unique use-case, I used it for video & photo editing, I use it for sheet music, and I really need pen support as I'm currently in seminary and am taking languages that require a lot of writing out by hand. I needed something that I could take with me, was light and portable, but also had a decent amount of power behind it. I've been pleasantly surprised with the Surface Pro 9 so far. I've been able to adjust my workflow so that I only have to do light video editing on this device, and it handles it like a champ, additionally, its been able to eat my graphic design software alive, and the pen support is even better with the Surface Slim Pen (that haptic feedback has changed my life). Additionally, the Surface Pro 9 is far more portable that my Surface Book ever was, and I'm really enjoying the tablet form-factor, especially when I use this for writing or for sheet music. The only real fault with the device is that the typing experience is not the best, but such is the cost of the convenience of the device's portability and thin profile. Finally, the repairability of the Surface Pro 9 is excellent. There's now official support from Microsoft to purchase a new screen or battery, which means I can count on relying on this machine for a long time, and don't have to worry about the battery fading in the future. Additionally, the ability to swap out the SSD was convenient and straightforward, and saved me several hundred dollars so I could get the configuration I wanted with 1TB of storage. I miss some aspects of my Surface Book 2 (the keyboard being the main thing), but this has served a worthy successor and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a solid 2-in-1 laptop.

Careful on this one...MS has, as usual, placed ridiculously high prices on the Memory and SSD, which are really the only choices you have other than LTG5. It's a GREAT little machine, light, fast, & capable of anything I need. It's my 2nd since I inadvertently dropped my SP 4 off a table top (still useful though). The i7 EVO is super fast, and should leave nobody wanting. Just make sure you have an idea of how you're going to use it, and get your RAM requirements fulfilled up-front, 'cause you can't upgrade RAM on this baby. BUT, you CAN upgrade the SSD and save several hundred dollars...That you'll be able to spend on the Signature Pro Keyboard & Slim Pen 2...See my other review about THAT! <G>

I recently snagged the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 from Best Buy, and wow, it's a powerhouse wrapped in a sleek package! It’s decked out with a 13" touch-screen, Intel Evo Platform Core i7, 16GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD, all in a gorgeous Graphite finish. The screen is super sharp, and the touch response is top-notch, great for everything from editing videos to flipping through websites. It’s super light too, which is perfect for carrying around campus or to work. Performance-wise, this thing flies—multitasking is a breeze, even with heavy apps and programs running. The battery life really seals the deal, lasting through a full day without needing a charge. Though, if you’re like me and keep a ton of files and apps handy, you might find the 256GB SSD a bit limiting, so having an external hard drive might be a good move. Overall, if you’re hunting for a versatile laptop that hits right in both looks and functionality, the Surface Pro 9 is a solid bet.

Love it! I needed something powerful enough to act as laptop but small enough to drag everywhere. It’s fast and does everything I do on desktop. I got 8gbRAM and 256gb memory. If you don’t know how much RAM you need the answer is more. Upgrade you won’t be sorry. Picture quality is excellent. Doesn’t have a lot of ports but aftermarket adapters are cheap and work fine. Battery lasting me for hours of near continuous use.

This device is absolutely amazing. I love how lightweight it is and its a perfect device for "on the go" whether it be schoolwork, streaming movies, taking notes etc! Easy to set up and its basically a laptop and tablet all in one! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it can't really handle the latest AAA games such as helldivers 2 or anything on that level. That is 100% okay though because if you have another gaming device or PC you dont really have to worry about that.

I upgraded from a Surface Pro 7 to the Surface Pro 9, and I am so happy I did. The faster chip and 256SSD is blazing fast, and the new colors (I bought Forest) really make the machine "pop". Windows 11 Home (which I had been using on my Surface Pro 7) works seamlessly with the hardware. All in all, great Windows machine. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I would have liked an SD card reader.

I’ve had the Surface Pro 9 (Core-i7) for a few months now, and it is without a doubt the best tablet I could’ve bought. It has been the perfect cross between power & portability, which makes my job as a software developer SO much easier! Would definitely recommend.

One of the main reason of getting this Surface Pro. 9 for me was the updated chipset and a user replicable SSD. It didn’t disappoint, was able to change the 256gb SSD to a 1tb in about 10 minutes. It is responsive and the bigger display is nice. Will ONLY take a m2 2230 type SSD. Also you will need to either clone the existing SSD to the new one or re-install Windows on the new SSD. Disclaimer: only change the SSD if feel comfortable doing that, if not have the Geek squad or other computer tech do it.

Excellent device. I replaced my 12.9" iPad Pro with this. I wanted more of a real computer experience and the dual USB-C ports are great to have! Really portable, easy to preview drone and GoPro video in the field. The iPad has a better screen and speakers, but I don't "miss" them and don't even think about it. The screen and speakers on the Surface are great and honestly surprised me with how good they perform. I am completely happy with making the switch. Get 16GB of RAM and completely recommended!

Perfect personal device companion, plays nicely with Logitech MX Keyboards that have the device toggle. Use it at my work everyday in fact. I owned an older Surface Pro 7 that was a base model and glad I went with the extra specs with this build. Buttery smooth! My one and only complaint is no native USB 2.0 slots, so you either need an adapter (which I have), a dock, or a USB device that is USB C compatible.

Absolutely love and recommend this product for everyday use. Better than the mac in my opinion, much easier to use and so compact. It has a strap so you can carry it, case that works as a stand and a built in easily adjustable stand. Also the pen that goes with it separately is amazing.

This is my 4th Gen. Microsoft Surface since about 2013. I continue to be obsessed with this product because it's lightweight and easy to pack, sleek, durable, and transforms from tablet to laptop in a snap. Don't hesitate, just buy!
