It's the only way that a individual can use the Xbox gaming system, for a full year so you don't need to keep rebuying 3 month cards or 1 month cards, so to me it's completely worth it in that regard, just buy it one time and it's over with for a whole year. No worrying about it cutting out every couple months type of deal. Thus in overall conclusion not only is buying membership to play online needed but the 1 year way is the best way.

My Grandsons wanted this for Christmas, so who gives the best presents at Christmas time, who needs Santa when they have Grandma lol

Do yourself a favor and get an Xbox Live Gold membership. For the price of one new game per year you will get 2 full games per month (yours to keep as long as your membership is active), online connectivity for co-op games, and rotating discounts across the Xbox Store. I primarily play on Nintendo Wii U, but even the limited amount I use the Xbox One, my Live Gold membership is a no-brainer. It is hands-down the best deal in gaming, regardless of whether you are a hard-core or occasional/casual gamer. Get Xbox Live Gold.

If you have an Xbox, you NEED Xbox Live Gold-it's that important to really get the most out of your multiple-hundred dollar system. Free games downloads, access to online play, and more. Normally it's $8 per months, and the year subscription goes for $60. I managed to catch mine for $40, so a little over $3 per month. Like I said: can't beat it. If you ever find these on sale, buy them and tell your friends.

The 12 month gold card is the best deal availble as far as the most bang for your buck compared to the 3 or 1 month card. And, with it your able to get access to multi-player gaming on all your favorite games, and get acess to free games from the games for gold program, basically this card pays for itself, and it is essential to getting the most out of the xbox expirence.

Xbox Live requires a Gold membership to play online and to access other features. Sometimes the prepaid 12-month Gold card comes on sale and it's a much better deal than purchasing 12-months directly through Microsoft, so I jumped on this deal and it did exactly what it's supposed to. It extended my membership by 12 months.

You need a gold membership if you want to do anything on the Xbox one. For a year of the service it is fairly priced, but since you have to purchase some length of gold to use your new gen system it looses value. I wish more was available without gold on Xbox, and only mind the purchase because one has too.

Pretty much needed to take advantage of the Xbox 360 and Xbox One's potential, such as online multiplyer. Comes with lots of free games and other stuff to help justify the cost. Best to get these when they go on sale (which seems to be several times a year.) Better deal than buying four 3-month cards.

We will always need Xbox Live for online gaming but to get a 12 Month Xbox Live Gold Card it is priced at $59.99 normally. Great thing about Best Buy is that they are usually on sale there too! I grabbed this one today for only $39.99. That is an amazing price! Awesome deal! Thank you!

Xbox Live is a must for most gamers and the beat place to get it is at Best Buy. The code worked flawlessly and the was no waiting for the code since I just walked in, paid, went home and added the Xbox Live card number to my account. Now I'm able to play online.

You know what you're getting with the xbox live card. Great multiplayer and free games with gold every month. Xbox live is a must with any xbox console. It's an even better value when it goes for sale for around $40, so wait for the sale or price match!

Cmon now. You can't have Xbox and not have Xbox live. You can play with friends, and enjoy some extra little fancy things that it provides. Only 50 bucks for a whole year of opening a can of whoop (butt) on friends and strangers? I'm sold.

We bought this to go along with an Xbox One on Cyber Monday. It was a great deal and has already served us very well. Lots of free games and also makes all games available for everyone. I will most certainly be renewing next year.

I used to buy 3-month plans, what felt like, all the time. Paying only once a year is sooo much more simple. It's nice not having to worry about having to buy a new live card every few months. It's worth the few extra bucks!

I've been a gold member for 10 plus years now and while paying is never fun, the cost broken down per month isn't any worse than Hulu or Netflix. Playing with friends is great and the free game downloads can be sweet too.

I wented to buy two XBOX live gold memberships for my kids, and I chose best buy over every other vendor.... And nearly everyone including Wally Marts sells this same item. But, best buy has price matching for online comparison. While they wouldn't match the lowest Amazon price because it was a private seller, they did match someone else's online price which saved me some money. Oh, and I went right past other large electronics stores (such as one which rhymes with Dies) to go to best buy solely because of the better customer service at best buy. I knew I wouldn't be returning the gold memberships, but I do prefer interacting with best buy employees more than the other places. Super nice manager... Best price in town... What a deal.

It's the best price per month and my son enjoys it. Not too much else to it. It does offer more free games to be online which he seems to like too. If you are going to buy a membership at all get this one.

I have been on Xbox Live for over 11 years now and make sure to never let my subscription end. it is fantastic and they are giving away at least two free games a month now. Worth it.

i purchased the 12 month gold membership because thru out the year i would save money instead of picking the $25 every 3 months. i enjoy the gold membership it has a lot of features.

Its just xbox live for 12 months. You get a better deal for buying the full year. Use it to play multiplayer games and get some deals, like free games every now ad then.
