I bought this to replace a fridge that was failing. This is an excellent design as I like to use more freezer space for food prepping, and such. And this can flex into fridge/fridge, fridge/freezer or freezer/freezer. I live in Central Florida and it’s hotter than heck and humid and the product is performing well. Highly recommend. Some reviewers have commented that the bottom door will open if you shut the top door hard, and it does but under normal use I do not find this a problem. My only criticism would be that the lower area does not have a light.
Overall, I like the concept of this Midea 50/50 Garage Ready Fridge/Freezer. It has a lot of potential, but there’s one major flaw. If you read reviews on other websites, you’ll see many people mention that when you close one door, the other door can pop open. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced the same issue. More than once, I’ve closed the refrigerator door without realizing the bottom freezer door had popped open. The freezer was left open long enough to frost over. Ruining food. I’m currently in contact with Midea to see if they have a fix or solution for this problem. I’m still within my return window, I bought from Best Buy. But you know how bestbuy is they won’t touch it until warranty window is up. and whether I keep it will depend on how media responds. If they can resolve the door issue, I’d be happy with it. Otherwise, it’s a significant design flaw that buyers should be aware of -yes I did check for level.

I really love the fact I can convert the fridge/freezer to all fridge or all freezer or half and half. It advertised garage ready and that is where I put it. Unfortunately, after a few seconds the GFI outlet in the garage tripped. I reset and it just kept tripping. To resolve the issue I contacted Midea about the issue and they said the fridge was not designed to work with a GFI circuit. I did some testing and found out I could replace my circuit breaker with an AFCI/GFCI circuit breaker and that seems to have solved my issue. Since the electrical code in the USA is to have GFI protection for all garage outlets, I don’t see how it could be advertised as garage ready.
