Midland’s compact size and 5 watts of power make it the perfect radio for short distance communication. Don’t expect that 50 mile range..... About 5 miles clear signal is all your really going to get... 5 watts of UHF power, and and FM quality audio make this much better than the old CB... PL and DPL codes make for a private channel, and cuts out all the static, unwanted transmissions and noise. The unit itself is built fairly well and the controls are simple enough to work and understand ( Read the inclosed manual first) .. For the price, it’s well worth the money if your looking for communication between two vehicles or a base station and portables a few miles away....
