Molekule Air Mini air purifier is FDA-cleared for medical use to destroy viruses and bacteria. This 510(k) Class II medical device features a 360-degree air intake that replaces the air in a 250-square-foot room. The device uses a patented PECO-Filter, which is coated with a proprietary catalyst and breaks down viruses & bacteria at a molecular level. It also traps 95% of particles 0.3-1 micron in size like mold & pollen allergens.
A: Molekule claims that its technology destroys VOCs without re-releasing. I found it helpful to look at the info (includes some data and studies) on molekule.com website. Living in a condo building during pandemic, can smell chemical odors from neighbors’ cleaning/disinfecting products, DIY home projects. As a very chemically sensitive person, I can get dizzy, nauseous, headachey from these chemicals. Been using a Winix 5300-2 hepa air purifier that helped, but seems like Molekule Mini on full blast does a better and faster job of “cleaning” the air of these VOCs/odors. The downside is that the Molekule is loud above setting of 3. Sounds like a vacuum at level 5 (best to be in a different room/area if running at full blast). Could tell a difference in improved air quality (crisper, almost lighter air) with the Molekule even though had the Winix previously running 24/7. Ended up buying a second Molekule Mini. Company claims its air purifiers are effective against mold/mycotoxins, various allergens, viruses and bacteria (FDA-cleared as a type II medical device) and no ozone emission (believe it is CARB2 compliant). Some reviews reference bad filter odors, but personally have not had this experience.
Q: Hello: how heavy is this? Can I use it overseas with 220 V power?
A: The Air Mini weighs 7.3lbs (3.3kg) and can be used overseas with 220V. Depending on the country, you may need to buy a 2-prong power plug converter.
Q: What are the dimensions of this product?
A: The Air Mini is about 12” (30.48 cm) high × 8.26” (20.98 cm) wide.
Q: Does this air purifier filter out second hand smoke?
A: I believe it would
A: The X model just has air quality sensors that you can view in the app. Features and operation is the same.
A: Your filters are automatically after 6-months once you've registered your Air Mini and activate your Filter Auto-Refill Plan. From there, your replacement filters will be sent annually.
A: The info found on Molekule’s website claims that it does. Its filter can capture some particles and the PECO technology supposedly can kill/neutralize mold spores and mycotoxins. Bought Molekules mainly to address mold/mycotoxin issues caused by HVAC-related problem since my understanding is that HEPA-only air purifiers can only capture within a certain size but cannot kill/neutralize mold/mycotoxins.
