I'm not sure why, but when her screen cracked she didn't take it to get fixed she just upgraded to the 6 plus.... I guess she would have to pay a deductible aND she didn't want too idk....

The Geek Plan is automatically deducted from my checking but I've never used it and am not sure what it covers. They should "remind" me in an email at least once a year what it covers.

I have had the Protection Plan for several years. It used to be great, now they just give you the run around and don't make it easy for you to cancel. Customer Service is difficult to understand and lengthen the process more than necessary. They don't give out loaner phones and are poor in updating or being knowledgeable about the "service" they provide. I cancelled 4 lines and only 3 of them got cancelled, I had to call again to get the 4th line cancelled.

It was fine. It won't change your world, but it works.

Would not buy a phone without this protection that Best Buy offers. It is the best insurance to have.

Since I started buying smartphones I have used the Geek Squad protections and I have liked it very much. It always came through when my phone broke or was working properly. Simple and easy was why I liked it. They recently changed the plan so it no longer covers drop protection. I'm not a fan of that so....I may have to switch to AppleCare.

I purchased a service plan on Iphones for my daughters in case they had trouble with their phones. Today my daughter dropped her phone and cracked the screen. I called about getting it repaired and was informed that in addition to the $10/month that I pay for the protection plan it would cost me an additional $149 to have the screen replaced. This would be done by having a refurbished phone sent to me to replace the one with the damaged screen. I don't want a refurbished phone and I don't think I should have to pay more than my monthly fee to have the screen repaired. To top it off I called an apple store and they will only charge $129 to replace the screen on the phone. And if there is damage beyond the screen the most they will charge is $269 to repair the phone. Since I've had these phones for more than a year if I had just skipped the plan all together I could have the phone fixed no matter what and be in about the same position. I'm canceling my best buy protection plan immediately and will not be buying another one!!! Very disappointed as this was never mentioned when selling me the plan and I'm pretty sure I asked if there would be a charge and was told no.

I have been paying insurance on my phone for a year and a half, and my screen cracked over the weekend. I went into the store and they told me that it would be $150 to replace the phone on top of the $10 I have been paying. This is absolutely ridiculous. I shouldn't have to pay a $150 (which is the cost of an upgrade) for a refurbished phone. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
