It's been a long-standing debate on whether it's in the consumer's interest to purchase insurance/coverage plan for their products or to avoid them. Somewhere along the way, it's become very sensible to protect these very expensive electronics (especially since a lot of Apple products can't be repaired outside of Apple or authorized retailers - a "Right to Repair" law might change the calculus, but for the time being we are quite reliant on Apple). I currently own six Apple devices and many others in the past 30 years, I would not go without this protection for them. I rarely have had any problems with most of them but am grateful for this coverage when I do need it.
