Monthly Best Buy Protection (up to 24 mo.)

I bought a laptop for roughly $500 and the manufacturer warranty offered for it was like $140 for a year warranty. Best Buy has a protection plan in their Pro member package for $180 per year that covers it for 2 years (only 40 bucks more), and gives a bunch of perks like any other purchases you buy get a 2 year warranty automatically just for being a member. Sure I’ll have to pay next year to continue being a pro member for the warranty to continue, but it’s already worth it for me cause a perk it has is if the price of something you bought drops in 2 months of purchase, Best Buy will price match it, and guess what… the laptop I bought dropped $130!! So now it’s like I only spent $50 in the pro package. Plus there’s the peace of mind knowing that it has free geek squad for items purchased at Best Buy, which is really nice when you buy an electronic and you possibly run into any issues. Another way I saved is I got a controller there for $30 cheaper than its price cause I’m a pro member. So really with all the peace of mind, pro member prices, price matching when a price goes lower, there’s a bunch of ways to save money and practically get your money back. It’s definitely worth it when you get the pro membership and make Best Buy your go to electronics place. Definitely going to get the pro membership again next year and likely going forward cause of all those reasons. Hope this helps anyone on the fence deciding!!!

My new laptop, a Lenovo Legion Pro 5i, and its accessories, rate an A+, but it would not have without the Geek Squad, which was amazing! I cannot praise them enough for getting me through a difficult setup. Microsoft is being so intrusive now days that the average person is at their mercy to setup a device in a way that is acceptable and which successfully minimizes Microsoft's outrageously aggressive promotion of their products. Truly, as far as I am concerned, my Total Tech cost paid for itself with this one purchase because I more than likely would have returned this $2,000 laptop (hey, don't judge, it was the only model with the ports I needed) if it had not been for the professionalism, friendliness, knowledge, and patience of Jacob (Geek Squad Tech), Emily (Geek Squad Manager), and Michael (the employee who set me up with Jacob). They were all beyond amazing. I am a granny who has had a horrible few years (lost my husband after a horrendous 5 year struggle with aggressive dementia), and I struggle to cope with any stress these days. The Geek Squad employees at Port Arthur, Texas, just did everything they could to minimize my stress. I just cannot tell you how much I appreciated them. So, yes, the Lenovo Legion gets 5 stars, but it was because the Geek Squad gets 10. I HIGHLY recommend the Port Arthur Geek Squad and Best Buy Port Arthur, and, now that they did their magic to configure and customize my laptop, I am thrilled with it as well. Truly, getting Total Tech (for several years now, even while struggling to stay in my home while my husband was ill) was one of the best decisions I EVER made! What I liked most: Peace of mind for valuable tech. What I liked least: Another recurring charge to keep track of. Surprises: How affordable it was compared to the cost of replacing the device.

I picked this up with my new PC parts, and it honestly takes so much stress out of owning expensive hardware. If anything dies, overheats, or just decides to fail out of nowhere, Best Buy handles it. I appreciate how straightforward the monthly plan is — no weird fine print, no huge upfront payment, and cancel anytime. I haven’t needed it yet, but just knowing it’s there makes me way more comfortable pushing my system during long gaming sessions. Definitely recommend if you’re building or upgrading a PC.
