This is definitely a must watch for any Bowie fan new or old. Moonage Daydream was done very well but I do have to say it felt more like a montage inside Bowies mind and life more than a Documentary, but it was still enjoyable. You might be reading this and thinking, but if it was a montage inside his mind and life it must actually be a documentary? It was and wasn't a documentary. You will learn some new things about him, or you will just rehear what you have already heard. This is not a "people sit down and talk about Bowie" type Doc. This film shows never before seen videos of him performing and visiting different places around the world while past interviews play in the background where he talks about his early life, his life as a star, and meeting the love of his life. I would have loved to see a mixture of what was done in this film combined with actual sit down interviews between him and an interviewer as well as learning more about him from his friends and family since his passing in 2016. This was a very artistic approach to the visionary Glam Rock Bowie we all know, but I kept waiting to learn more about him from the man himself and others that knew him. Luckily there is a lot written about him on the web as well as a plethora of interviews throughout the years on YouTube.

For Bowie fans, this is essentially viewing. It's quite good from a technical standpoint, but it has recently been announced that Criterion is going to release a version. This will likely include much more special features, and hopefully a 4K transfer and Atmos soundtrack. If you want the best presentation of this, I'd wait for that version. In the meantime, if you can get this for your right price, I'd recommend it heartily.

This is one of the best music documentaries I've ever seen, and I actually had the pleasure of viewing it in IMAX during its brief theatrical run. It explores not only Bowie's evolution as an artist, in music and other endeavors, but his life-long search to become a better human being. For those who have sensitivity to flashing lights, there are several instances of them during some of the montage sequences, so prepare accordingly.

This is not your normal documentary. It definitely features archival material. What makes it stand out is the in-depth conversations Bowie has. It's nice to really get into his head. Visually and sonically, there's a lot going on.

This is not much of a documentary, as it is a Bowie experience. Narrated by Bowie himself. Brett Morgan did an excellent job on " this experiential cinematic odyssey explores Bowie's creative, musical and spiritual journey. "

Excellent non traditional documentary. The sound design is great. Play it I surround in the dark. A fitting tribute to an artist of this magnitude

Must watch for any Bowie fan. My only complaint is this release doesn't include the Atmos mix, you only get 5.1.
