I’ve been using the MSI Vector 16 (QHD, 240Hz) for about a month, and my experience has been a mix of impressive performance and frustrating reliability issues. When the system works, it’s genuinely excellent — but the number of recurring problems makes it hard to recommend. 1. Excellent Gaming Performance (When It Works) To be fair, the laptop *can* deliver. When everything is functioning properly, it handles graphics‑intensive games beautifully. High‑refresh gameplay is smooth, thermals stay under control, and the GPU performance is exactly what you’d expect from a machine in this class. This is easily the strongest part of the system. It is understandable that the fans make some noise, but that's worth it for the good internal temperature regulation. 2. System Crashes and General Instability Unfortunately, stability has been a major problem. The laptop has experienced unexpected crashes during normal use — not just gaming, but even during booting, browsing, or waking from sleep. These issues persisted despite driver updates, BIOS checks, and Windows repairs. A new system shouldn’t behave this unpredictably. I have reinstalled the OS twice so far and will do it again later today. 3. Storage Expectations (No Second SSD Slot) This is probably my bad. I couldn't find actual specs on this so made an assumption that was not true. A big disappointment was discovering that the laptop does **not** include a second internal SSD slot. I am told that MSI gaming laptops typically offer dual M.2 slots. For a mid‑to‑high‑end gaming machine, having only a single SSD slot feels unnecessarily limiting. It would have been nice to see info on this on the Best Buy web page. Persistent Terminal Window at Every Boot Another ongoing issue is a terminal window labeled **amdafdapp.exe** that pops up *every single time* the system boots. Closing it doesn’t help — it immediately reopens. MSI Center adjustments, startup management, and service checks haven’t resolved it. It’s intrusive and suggests a deeper software or driver problem MSI hasn’t addressed. Has booted to a bitlocker screen 3 times, and that just shouldn't happen. 5. Wi‑Fi Adapter Fails to Initialize After Sleep or Shutdown A particularly frustrating issue has been the Wi‑Fi adapter frequently failing to initialize after the system wakes from sleep or boots from shutdown. The laptop would often act as if the Wi‑Fi hardware didn’t exist at all. I eventually had to change system settings and power‑management options just to make the adapter reliably appear. This is not something a user should have to troubleshoot on a brand‑new machine. **Overall Impression** The MSI Vector 16 has the potential to be a fantastic gaming laptop — and in brief moments, it absolutely is. But the combination of system instability, disappointing storage limitations, persistent software glitches, and Wi‑Fi reliability problems has made the overall experience far more frustrating than it should be. For a premium device, I expected better consistency and polish. If I was still in the return window for this, I would return it and purchase something else. To be fair, I have not yet reached out to MSi about these problems and will do so if I continue to have these issues after my 3rd reinstallation of the operation system. I'm writing this review from the perspective of how things work out of the box.

Games look spectacular on it's monitor (if this is a big GPU upgrade, make sure you also upgrade your 2nd monitor too if you use one). My only complaint is it handles going to sleep like garbage. It'll go to sleep, but when you open the lid and press the power button, it does nothing. I've tried a couple of work arounds and nothing works. So, I just shut it off completely, now.
