I don’t always write reviews, but when I do, I am super impressed with the product. I chose this system after a careful evaluation of a few Dolby Atmos compatible surround systems in the market. It is very easy to plug and play. You need an HDMI 2.1 cable for optimum performance (which doesn’t come with the product). I bought one from KabelDirect’s Amazon store and it’s good. The subwoofer, I would say is huge and check out the picture for a size comparison with JBL 2.1 subwoofer. It comes with wall mounts and also the cables for back surround speakers (should connect to the subwoofer) are pretty long too. Overall sound quality and clarity are amazing. It gives very good cinematic feel at home.

I wanted a surround sound system that was easy to install, fit in the space, that looked good and had great sound. I got it all with this system! It’s a bit pricey, but wow does it pack a bass punch! The eARC input easily connects the system, TV and Apple TV with one remote.

After extensive research, I purchased the Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.1.4 soundbar system, and I'm incredibly happy with my decision! It's a significant upgrade from my previous soundbar, which recently stopped working. The Shockwafe 7.1.4 offers everything I could ask for in a soundbar: 7.1.4 channels for immersive surround sound, Dolby Atmos support, an eARC connection for high-quality audio passthrough, 850 watts of power, and a sleek design. The 10" subwoofer is particularly impressive, delivering room-shaking bass. My previous soundbar sounded tinny and disjointed, but the Shockwafe 7.1.4 completely blows it away with its superb audio fidelity. I can hear sounds in my favorite movies and shows that I've never noticed before. I'm especially excited about the Dolby Atmos support. Watching content that supports Dolby Atmos with this soundbar is a truly immersive experience. Setup was a breeze, thanks to the eARC connection. I have the soundbar hooked up to an 85" Sony X90CK TV, and everything works perfectly. I love that I can control both the TV and soundbar with just one remote. The supplied remote is easy to use and well-designed. It has dedicated buttons for different listening modes, which is convenient. On a side note, the instructional manual is excellent. It's a large, folding brochure that clearly explains setup, using the remote, connecting peripherals, etc. I love this soundbar so much that I'm already planning to upgrade to the Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2.4 channel setup for my next home. But for now, I'm thoroughly enjoying the Shockwafe 7.1.4. Great job, Nakamichi! Keep up the amazing work!

Looked at Bose and Klipsch and chose chose this unit and couldn't be more impressed. The surround is beautiful the perfect amount of bass and with the remote you have the adjustability the sound to be perfect for your ear. The e-arc setup was flawless which allows it to turn on or off with the tv automatically. Hands down the best bang for the buck... enjoy, I am!

I was so excited to take home the soundbar. Hooked it up. I choose this to replace the defective Samsung Q990B from Best Buy. After hooking everything and started playing music and movie, i was not impressed. Sound is dull. Sub is weak, bad separation on surrounds. My Hisense M series sounds a lot better than this. Returned this and got me another brand

I spent several days reading reviews. I didn’t understand the difference between the two systems until I visited the Nakachimi website. They have an amazing comparison icon. It puts they old side by aide with the new and it spoke volumes to me. I happened to come across a review of an owner of the 1st 2019 system and now owned the 2022 eARC model. That review sealed the deal with my choice to buy the newer model (which I would have anyway)! Maybe I just needed a nudge. I initially bought the 9.2.4 for my main family room. I was blown away by the realistic feel of every single scene in the latest top notch movies and shows. I bought the 7.1.2 for my mancave as a Christmas present to me from my girls. The 360 SSE surround sound in games is absolutely mind blowing. I have the Xbox X downstairs and the PS5 in the cave. This simple, plug and play set up, is bar none, the beat system on the market. Nothing even comes close under $4k, NOTHING! Its your receiver, amp, speakers all in one crisp package. Wr can now hear vocals while explosionsa and bullets bounce and the room. It’s completely customizable to a point and its good enough for anyone looking for a movie theater experience in their homea without spending a small fortune. The one and only thing I wish was different, is if the subs had their own volume switch. The ability to turn down the subs without loosing your surround sound would be an exceptional addition to the next version. There are a few movies where the bass totally overwhelms they entire experience but not very often. Usually with oldet movies that dont have the tech of today. Or if that particular show uses bass as an overall tone throughout its entirety. I have spent time going back over some of my favorites and I’ve never felt more in the action or sucked into everything I watch as I do today. Thank You Nakamichi for bringing pure Joy into our household this Christmas. You have a customer for life.

Easy to set up, plenty of options to create great sound. Comes with connection cables for any setup you want. Remote was a little confusing at the beginning but the user manual helps sort it out. Good surround speakers and the base can rattle your windows. Nakamichi’s customer service is very helpful and prompt. This is a real nice system and we are happy with it.

I was ready to purchase a Sony Atmos soundbar and rear speaker/sub package, then the person who was helping me asked me lots of questions. The final decision was room size. I have a small den 12x15 with 8ft ceiling. He said I didn't need the fancy super expensive Sony and recommended the Nakamichi. I'm thankful for honest information. The sound is AMAZING! I hear so much detail with the up-firing speakers and the bass is just right. I like that I can control the level of all the speakers. I just watched 2023 Avatar and Mandolorian. I have a new 77" Sony OLED. I'm happy to have donated my 55" Samsung and 1st Generation 7 channel Onkyo system. I now have true home theater! Ican't wait for our 11yr old grandson to come visit and watch movies with me

Great sound and powerful bass. Set up was easy and intuitive. The reason for not giving it a 5 Stars is because of the delay in sounds; and particularly with Youtube…there is like a 15-20 seconds delay when Youtube goes to commercial and then back to the clip…every single time. Other than the delays, the sound is impressive.

I am absolutely in love with my new sound system! It has completely transformed my listening experience, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I initially did have an issue with the left speaker "crackling," but I contacted Nakamichi customer support, and they quickly sent a replacement speaker, which resolved the issue. The system is also incredibly easy to use and set up, which is a huge plus. Overall, I would highly recommend this sound system to anyone looking to upgrade their listening experience. It's definitely worth the investment and I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase!

Overall good experience till now. I will update my review based on more usage. It is for 7.1.2 2022 model Future ready, supports eARC and 4k 60 fps pass through, Dolby Atmos as well as dts x. Bass is good enough for rooms but for a larger living space get dual subwoofer just to have the position neutral bass experience. Backlit Remote is big which may or may not be a good thing. Yet to explore if i can use it for controlling my TV as well. Soundbar Wall mounting is easy, it is sleek, suitable for 50inch tv and plus if mounting below tv Surround speakars are ok not too powerful. If you have budget go for 9.2.4 Customer service is good. Though they try to generalize your issues sometimes.. stay focused on your problem. Another good thing, no cables from soundbar to other speakars. Surround back connects with subwoofer by cable. Initial setup was bit problematic because it uses wifi for communicating between soundbar and subwoofer. Which was interfering with other devices wifi connection, but it is super easy to fix, just set wifi channel for sound bar to a fixed one with 3 remote clicks. It works great with Roku and another streaming device (Verizon) but with chromecast there is delay in audio sync if you do fwd/rew. Seems like a limitation with Chromecast. Overall a good product for the price. Please don't compare with full fledge 7.1 setup or high end sony systems (almost double the price)

Great sounding system. Very powerful. The subwoofer sounds great but if you turn it up too much it sounds blown. Maybe it is just mine, but it definitely is a turn off when turned up.

This thing is loaded with the sounds! Added to my 75” in a 22’x24’ living room and what an upgrade to our old Samsung surround. Additionally, as loud as we make it, you cannot hear it in the room just above the living room. Worth every penny and more.

Definitely worth the research, especially the updated version, also mind you this is not a simple sound bar system..it takes a speaker nerd like myself to truly appreciate the opportunity to tweak and change the settings an options to your liking. You can plug and play but you get more out of this badass product from reading or researching if you are new to home theater common knowledge. IT’s without a doubt a very good product from a very supportive a successful audio company that many do not know about. ✌️

Best sound bar I ever heard. Clean sound, clear and surround sound speakers sound amazing. The sub is on a whole other level. I have my bass at zero and the sub sounds like a beast. Overall im extremely happy with this purchase. Cant wait to get the dragon when it comes out.
