This switch works great. I have it running a wired xbox, a wire to my router, computer and a few other gadgets. It has no problem running 2 xbox’s at once and being on the computer. I had a cheap switch that just couldn’t keep up so I definitely believe you get what you pay for in this case. I highly recommend

I was wanting to get a switch that allowed me to program the ports, name the ports and have the ability to set what ports I want as media streaming. This was exactly what I was looking for, great design, simply a better looking switch then others.

I have had zero issues with this router and am using it as the primary router in my setup. I am using the xfinity cable modem connected to this router. This router is connected to my Xbox and my desktop - which is also a web and database server as well as a plex server. Also connected to this router is my orbi ac3000 WiFi which connects to 40 devices (6 TVs, multiple Amazon Alexa devices, ring doorbell pro and ring cameras, lights, nest, iPads, iPhones, laptops, etc). There are 6 people in the house using their wireless devices. And people coming in and out with their WiFi devices on the guest network. This router sits at the top of this chain routing the traffic to all of this chaos. It does an excellent job keeping up with it. There has been no issues after setting it up.

This switch works well for me. I don’t know enough about this kind of equipment to go into great detail, but it’s working just fine. I am getting great speeds thru it and you don’t have to be a tech geek to utilize this switch and prioritize ports. The dashboard to configure and control this is very easy to navigate and use. Netgear has also offered up a few preset configurations Depending if you plan to game or are just streaming; easily set it up for either with one click. I believe there is now a newer version that may have been released earlier this year that goes way beyond what this will do, but if you’re like me and just looking for a good switch to provide hardwired connections, this definitely is the way to go. Looks pretty cool too.

Very nice build, it feels solid and works as good as it looks. With all the media we use now I had to abandon powerline networking and go mostly wired to points in the house with multiple devices. I built a new media server when a Seagate drive failed. I could get much better metrics on performance from a dedicated server and saw just how much of a bottleneck there was. Brought the house all up to CAT5E cable and gigabit across the board. The switch performs great. I can stream to four sources at 4K and still have bandwidth to spare. Thanks Netgear!

It is definitely the best switch I have ever had. It is extremely easy to setup and prioritize traffic though the different ports. It has the 8 ports but of course just like any other switch one is used as an up-link.

I have had this switch now for several months. It is on my network with an X10 router and an EX8000 extender at the other end of the house to maintain solid wifi throughout the house. I have experienced a couple of quirks with the Netgear X10 router and EX8000 extender, but this switch has been no issue whatsoever. Solid performance on the wired devices. I stream from Plex throughout the house both wired and wireless. No performance issues at all.

1) Looks really cool, one of the reasons I bought it. 2) Setup and hookup was easy and since has worked without any issues. 3) I have used it to both stream and connect gaming devices, have not seen any lags, buffering, or any connectivity related issues so far.

A recent thunderstorm killed a few ports on my previous Ethernet switch so I needed a replacement. My router is a Netgear Nighthawk R8000 so when looking for a replacement switch I was thrilled to see the Nighthawk series switch. Installation was quick and easy since it was a swap. Simple plug and play. Once the addresses pulled up from the router I was good to go and connected to my home network. Downloading the optional software allows you to adjust the switch bandwidth depending on what you want to do. Streaming movies, internet browsing or gaming, there are settings which optimize the switch for the best experience. I need to see if Netgear has an update of software for the router now so that I can get the most out of my home network system. I highly recommend if you burn a lot of gigs.

Anytime I hear of any device that is for gaming I get skeptical so I thought I try this Netgear Ethernet Gigabit Switch and I must say that this switch does a great job with all my devices connected via Ethernet i.e. my main rig and xbox as well as my Roku Ultra along with QoS functionality to help out with what traffic I want going through my devices and this switch does what is it set to do. The zinc-alloy body really keeps this switch cool as ice which heat was a bit of a concern for me but its not a problem, overall I am happy with this switch in which 8 Ethernet ports was all I needed but if you need more then 8 Ethernet ports I suggest looking at other switches which can give you more ports.

Works perfectly for all of my gaming setup. I get great speeds and it looks really cool. Paired with a Netgear router and I have a stable, low latency connection for PC and console gaming.

Very fast and easy setup my network bandwidth tripled using CAT5 cable connection and nearly doubled my WIFI bandwidth. A great purchase. I'm glad my network slowed down and caused me to search this solution out!

Needed a replacement switch. The preconfigured ports for gaming and streaming seemed like a nice touch. I'm happy with it.

I am using it with my PS4, Xbox One X, Two computers, and Fire TV 4K box with Ethernet adapter. So far I have no issues... setup was easy and has just enough customization options.

Installed easily, works great, but directions to put in a password are poor! Does not indicate how/where to go to set password, and link to internet page does not work.

This switch maybe a little pricey but it's built like a tank and is basically just plug and play straight out of the box. I uplinked from my home network NETGEAR - 16-Port GS116NA switch to use this strictly for gaming and it works great. Speeds are constant and always on par with what I'm supposed to be getting from ISP.
