Compared to other Project Diva games, this has the least amount of songs (30) but that doesn't make it worse than the others. Personally speaking, it's a quality-over-quantity sort of thing because I enjoyed most of the songs, whereas in other games, some of the songs sound too similar. In any case, the song list should be somewhere online, so look into that before buying. X also has a story mode... but it's not that great. There are some funny moments, but there is nothing particular deep. If you plan to complete the game 100% however, it's going to be a grind. Most of the collectibles are random and some of them are locked behind songs at the highest difficulty (whereas in previous games, it wasn't necessary to play on Extreme), so take that into consideration. In any case, it's a great music game.

Sega changed the formula for Project DIVA X, but not all of the changes made were for the better. The PS4 version runs at 1080p and 60fps, that's good. Tons of customization items too. Not so good: Only 20+ songs this time (not counting 2 DLC songs), compared to 40+ (again, not counting DLC) for Project DIVA F 2nd on the PS3. Also, Rush notes (hitting the button over and over on these) seems pretty pointless and only some songs have them. The worst is that all the customization items unlock randomly, so if you want all the items, it's a huge grind. Also, no real PVs this time, now it's just vocaloid dancing around on a stage. Songs are pretty good for the most part, but I prefer the F series overall. I really wish Sega had localized PD: Future Tone instead, but not very likely due to licensing issues. I suppose it comes down to how big a Hatsune Miku fan you are, you could opt for the cheaper PS Vita version.

This game is a further extension of the two PS3 and PS Vita titles with more rhythmic based gameplay of vocaloid songs and Miku grooming. A nice feature is the allowed use of the Hori Miku controller, which makes the game both better and harder to play. Difficulty has been scaled down a bit, where the second game was hard from the start.

This certainly has the best graphics of any Miku game so far, until Future Tone comes out. The gameplay is classic Miku style, with plenty of challenge. The game also tries to have a story which adds a little something to the simple gameplay of the other games in the series.

This game will feel very familar to any Hatsune Miku F player out there, and quite similar but not 100% same to Mirai DX players on the 3DS. This game offers a "Story Mode" called Cloud Quests. Here they divied up the songs into categories. (Cute, Cool, Quirky etc) and you strive to obtain certain modules, bonuses and a high score in each song. Thus unlocking it in free play mode. The story is very cheesy and mundane, but easily passble to play all the songs. Literally nothing happens besides conversations between the vocaloids. But breaks up the pace a little. I highly recommend this game if you are a fan of Rhythm games, or Hatsune Miku in general. :)

Basically, if you know and enjoy Miku...you'll love this. Sadly there is a low amount of songs, but there's tons of modules etc to unlock. The story is kind of weak, but it's a first for the series so I'll give it time

Best game so far in the series, a good pick if you like rhythm games.

Upgrade from 30 to 60 fps, 720p to 1080p, song list 40 to 32. Edit mode replaced with stage editor. Hatsune miku X is a solid addition to the series, even though the track list os smaller the songs are produced really well, and youll end up finding more than a few to be your favorite. Some features are more present in this version of the game, one youll notice right away is a lot more dialoge. Sega put effort towards a lack luster story mode that does the job, but seemed unnecessary. The song list is excellent, no older volcaloid songs are present, except in temix melodies which are nice, but really tease not being full songs. A feature that i found EXTREMLY annoying was dialog aftrr almost every song in story mode, even after you complete it. The force the pet/date sim part of the game a lot more in this version. They made it much more a focus point than in previous entries which I did not like,. Another addition was concert edit mode, which lets you set the stages to whatever you want. Sad thing is seeing EDIT Song mode gone where you could play community note charts to songs as long as you had the mp3, seeing that feature gone is upsetting as well, but the quality of the main game is still there. Pros: Great music, a lot of genres Challenging A lot of things to collect New edit mode 60 fps (HUGE IMPROVEMENT) Cons: Forced interation with vocaloids, almost date sim like. Edit song mode gone Harder to get costumes than before. Even with things missing/replaced I still think this game is worth purchasing if you love music games. Definitely needed on the PS4.

Less focus on the music gameplay and more focus on the dating sim aspects. I find it worse than the last two but still fine.

This game has more story elements where you help Miku bring light back to the world, unlike past games where you just play songs to unlock modules. After unlocking the songs, you can play them just like the old games in the series as well. Also, gift giving and friendship levels are a little more difficult this time around. You have to unlock gifts with song play instead of just being able to purchase them with Diva points. I definitely recommend this game to any fan of Hatsune Miku and the Project Diva series!

Probably the best rhythm game on the PS4. Story mode is great. Had a lot of fun playing this with my kids.

If you have played Project Diva in the past you know what you are getting into. This installment adds a story mode and give costumes and accessories a purpose. However, there are not many songs, and while unlocking Modules (costumes) is better due to not having to save Diva points (money), you randomly get them during songs and you get duplicates, which means you still have to grind.

Do you like Japanese game and rhythm game then you would love this game. Hatsune miku is back but this time for the PS4. If you are looking at this game and it says you have to have the ps camera but you don't you can play it without it. It might be more fun to play it with it but you don't have to. It's a neat game to play but don't think it is an easy game because it's not.

Sega did a great job bringing the game over. All tracks from the Japanese version are here still with translated lyrics. This is the way this type of game should always be done! Normal mode is easy, so if you're a newcomer to this type of game, then stick with that. I recommend playing the game on Hard difficulty as the rhythm game uses all four dualshock face buttons instead of just two of them on Normal mode.

This is a really great game, game play wise with all the new modules and gameplay features. Unfortunately what holds this back is the weak 30 song track list. While the songs themselves are great there are only a few compared to the previous entries. In fact the 3DS game has about 50 songs.

There's a fun story mode (bizarre though it may be) to unlock songs, costumes ("modules"), accessories and room decorations. There are a lot of great songs, especially "Satisfaction" and "Lost One's Weeping." The mode that allows you to set up a "concert" and perform your three favorite songs is pretty fun, too. It's a nicely fleshed-out Hatsune Miku game.

I bought it for my 10-year old daughter. I assummed it was going to be hard for her but in just a couple of weeks, she mastered the game. Requires a lot of eye/hand coordination as well as knowing your ps controller layout. Terrific audio and great backgrounds. A lot of options and upgrades ready for you to be unlocked.

Coming from a PS3 playing Project Diva F2nd, this game is a little lacking in comparison. The song list has good songs, but too few songs total. This makes the story mode very repetitive without diversity. I would recommend going to the PS store and buying Project DIVA Future Tone Bundle instead. For $54 you get 200+ songs. The only thing you give up is a story mode/character interaction. If you must own all the songs (new and old) then you'll probably end up buying both games anyway, but if you're going for a bang/buck ratio get the Future Tone Bundle on the PS store instead.

Purchased this as a gift for someone who has the prior 2 PS3 Project Diva series games available in the USA. Based on the player's feedback I would say that this is a solid entry and have not witnessed any game play issues or glitches. All Good.
