It was nice having a comers that I could take into the pool and ocean with. It takes pretty clear picture. Just make sure you wipe the lens when coming out the water and taking a picture. It captures any condensation that is on the lens. Lost a few good pics that way. Otherwise I recommend it

I really enjoyed this camera and it's pictures from my trip to the Bahamas. Only advice I would give is practice with the camera functions before using. The buttons are placed well for taking various shots underwater. But I had difficulties remembering which button was what and couldn't read well underwater but I need readers for land reading :-) Picture quality was pretty good and fine for my needs. I chose not to spend big as I have a great land camera. Recently I took it to Florida where I took it out on a boat to watch dolphins and it took great pictures with no worries about waves.

This is my second Coolpix camera. Coolpix is easy to use. It can be set on auto settings or you can make adjustments for your pics. It is relatively small and easy to carry around. My second coolpix has the waterproof casing which is great for pictures around water or rain but it makes it a bit larger. It won't fit in a pocket as easily.

While out and about using this camera is a breeze. It is small and compact and can take amazing photos with quality unmatched by other camera brands. The special effects that come with the camera bring life to pictures plain and boring. It can be a fun time just sitting and playing with all the amazing effects that make my own unique style pop.

Purchased this camera as a gift for my 13 year old stepson to use on a scouting trip. It takes excellent photos and is easy to use. The waterproof/shock resistance features are added benefits as teens aren't always careful.

I bought this camera to take snorkeling. It took great photos. You do need to listen for a beep while under water which was hard. But the quality of pictures were great. Much better than I expected. We also used this camera on our cruise. It took great pictures and it took a decent video. This may not be the same quality as a $1,000 camera but for $129.00 camera it was great and very versatile. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because the battery doesn't hold a charge very long. Luckily, it lasted the whole time we were snorkeling but it has to be charged at least once a day if not twice. For a Nikon I expected a longer battery life. I'm still happy with this purchase. It would be perfect if the battery lasted longer. I hate the way it has to charge, with the card holder door open but really, I don't think there would be another way if you wanted to keep it water proof. I tried to post a picture of a photo under water taken with this camera but it wouldn't let me.

Camera is easy to use, enjoy taking under water pictures with this. The quality of the images are very good. I was pleased to practice with the underwater option in the pool prior to my vacations, made me more comfortable with the camera.

I bought this to upgrade from my previous camera which was a Casio from 2004 in a Polaroid water housing. Although that worked OK, getting to the buttons was a challenge, videos were only 640x480 and it was a pain to remove the housing to access the SD. This new camera solves all of that. The buttons are big and easy to use. The interface is simple to use. My 7 yo uses it with ease. HD video is great. Video and photos under water are great. I had to buy a floating wrist strap for it as it does not float. The only complaint was shooting in the ocean. After the first couple of shots it stopped working. It turned on and everything appeared fine but the picture and video button would not do anything. It wasn't until I brought it home and rinsed it in fresh water did it start working again.

I got this for my daughter as a starter camera mainly because it is shock proof up to 5 feet. Takes nice pictures and Viedo. It's a simple camera and menus are pretty easy to get through. The only thing I don't like so far is that in order to charge it, you need to open up the camera as if you were taking the battery or memory card out. It's kind of strange that there is no port in the exterior. Guessing that is due to waterproof design. After reading the manual not sure I would ever submerge in water or take to beach. This is only to reduce the risk of particles getting into the battery and memory card chamber.

Bought this for a friend who was going snorkeling while on a cruise and wanted to take under water pictures but didn't want to spend crazy money since we wouldn't be using it very much. Most pics came out OK but dull and she said the screen was hard to see so she just kept clicking hoping she'd get some good pics. I think the dull ones can be touched up thru photo shop. The camera does take good pics overall.. Just a matter of knowing how to use the camera. Also..the strap that comes with the camera is not made for under water use. You will lose the camera if you let go of it. Buy a better strap. And it didn't come with a case.

Bought this camera prior to taking a western caribbean cruise. The picture quality is superb. Use one button to take photos and a separate button for taking mini-movies...extremely easy to switch back and forth. Handled water easily, though we didn't use it submerged.

This camera is easy to use, even a grandparent can figure it out !! Being waterproof it is also kid-proof, my grandson cannot play with the lens and it can take a drop on the floor. Love the clarity and the "series of pictures" setting allows me to shoot action shots of my grandson in focus!!

I bought this camera to have fun with young kiddos at the water park. It works GREAT for closer pictures and videos but not so awesome on those more than a few feet away. Overall for the $100ish I spent I think it's a fun camera. I'm anxious to see how it works outdoors and in faster moving environments.

Recently went on a vacation to the beaches of St John Virgin Islands and I wanted a lot of pictures. I bought this waterproof camera primarily so I could take it with me swimming instead of leaving it unguarded on the beach. Naturally, I then took some underwater snorkeling photos and videos as well as normal scenic pics on land. All the photos and videos came out fantastic. And the camera was easy to use. One scare though: on the last day it suddenly said "memory card not formatted". A call to Nikon when I returned solved that so all turned out well. It was quite a scare though!

So far so good. My 11 year old daughter was happy with the look and style of the camera initially, and hasn't been disappointed yet with the performance. She enjoys the features that allow her to alter the color. of the photos. The videos sounds odd when you plan them back on the camera itself, but seem to have better quality when you download them on a computer and play them. She's super excited about the waterproof feature as we're taking a family trip to Barbados in the summer. Overall, this seems to be a good starter!

We bought this camera for our 7 year old granddaughter for Christmas. It is perfect for her. It is easy to work, takes great pictures and videos, and is a indestructible. It can also be used under water.

not as clear underwater as a more expensive camera but for the price works great with little fuss.

First camera I have purchased in some time. Took to beach, great for this because it is also waterproof and I didn't have to worry about the humidity or the camera getting wet while near the water (camera actually has ability to be used underwater but I have not used it in this manner yet(). Pictures are really nice & clear. This was a great purchase for the money!! Easy to use.
