Owned prior Vornado fan in this model, worked for 20+ years with no issues, whisper quiet, strong air movement. Finally the cord broke at the attachment point. Ordered 723 DC Model as replacement item online. Item shipped in five days to house. Opened box, plugged in fan.... nothing. Did not work, did not run at all. Really? Great "quality control" Vornado. Returning item to store tomorrow for full refund. Will NOT reorder. Very disappointed.

The fan is very efficient, almost unlimited speed variations and can be aimed in many directions with this stand. We are very happy with the purchase. Highly recommended!

I purchased this on my August 17, 2021. Today is Sept 19, I turned it on and it sounded like a defective propeller with a click. I had a Vornado heater a few years back and didn’t last a year. I thought it will be different this time since it is a pricier product fr Vornado compared to my heater. Good thing I got a warranty fr Bestbuy but this would be the last time that I will purchase a Vornado fan.

It turns out that DC power means it comes with a plastic power brick like a laptop uses (you don't want it installed in the fan housing, interfering with air flow). That means you have an extra item lying around on the floor. Not a big deal unless you're using the fan to compensate for hot sunlight. If the brick lies in the sun for an hour or two, you'll notice that the fan has stopped and then that the brick is too hot to handle. Unplug the brick and let it rest in the shade until cool and it'll be fine. Must have an internal circuit breaker. Second issue: the DC cord has a typical laptop-style plug that goes to a jack at bottom center on the fan housing, very awkward on a floor-standing fan. If you move the fan around it'll come unplugged now and then. So secure the cord to the leg with a couple of plastic tie straps (the fan ought to come with those) and that will be fine.

I was skeptical of spending this kind of money on a fan, but after using it I am thoroughly impressed. This fan works better than my ceiling fan did. Its really hot in florida and this thing does the job. As you know hot air rises and cold air sinks, this fan shoots that cold air upward and creates whole room airflow. Well worth the money.
