I use these outdoors in AZ. They say the battery length is long (up to 6 months) but it is not. It lasts less than a week with minimum movement happening. Arlo does’t sell a wall plug strong enough to charge the battery fully in a short length of time either. They work when they’re charged for 6 days, then you’ll loose a day because it takes about a day to charge. The image quality is good, the light is powerful, they’re easy to set up on an existing arlo account, they're easy to use. I just wish the battery life was better. I have 2 of these and 2 other arlo cameras. They’re all the same with battery length. Once these die on me, I wont be getting arlo again.

The camera and the system is excellent. The set up very easy . I did not rank with 5 star because one of the camera has problem to set up and I can find the problem even contacting Arlo support. Eventually , I will continue trying

This new essential Arlo camera is affordable , easy to use and set up. The 1080p with the help of the spotlight makes the video image crystal clear. The camera has all that the other expensive Arlo cameras have except with one down side, the battery is not detachable and even though the camera specs says that the camera last 6 months before you need to charge it , it all depends on how your settings are. The usb cord is shorter than the ones that comes on the Arlo pros but it does the job to charge the camera. The delay on the app is a little slow, hopefully the Arlo app fix this sometime, but the features included are great , also you get 3 months of Arlo Smart.

Most epic purchase ever!!! Clear videos, great zoom and awesome features on the app! Gives us comfort to know while we're out of town. I can still check in on the house on all cameras. The battery life is pretty rad so far, they've only had to be charged once in 2-3 months but mainly because we have a dog door , mamy animals and alot of guests! Haha! I love that I can talk to my animals and peeps thru the app while that are at my house and they can communicate back to me as well!!! All in all I am impressed! I have and will continue to gloat about these especially for the price that I paid for all of them! Furthermore the fact that they work without requiring a hub!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! THANX ARLO AND BEST BUY, YOU GUYZ ROCK!

I've had it about a weeks now and so far it's okay. When you get a notification about motion the app has a 2 to 5 minute delay before you can see the video sometimes. It synced up with my Google home app but it buffers for a new seconds to a minute before it shows you the live stream. The picture quality is good and so far the battery life is decent but not going to last 6 months on 1 charge. I got it, charged it, and installed it Dec 3rd and today Dec 10th and the battery is at 67% and thats with most of the notifications turned off but I do have dogs that run around my backyard so it detects them a lot

I am grateful having this arlo cameras. Placed it everywhere in the house. For the price it was a steal. Great product which gives you an option to subscribe or not still it is working good. Will buy more

I'm using the Arlo - Essential Spotlight Indoor/Outdoor Wireless 1080p for home security. The range is solid with my home internet. It was easy to set up the app and to adjust the direction / aim of the cameras. I am disappointed that it requires a subscription to have access to video moving forward, as the cameras no longer have their own memory cards.

Arlo is 100% reliable and dependable. Records video and sound, perfectly. The motion sensors are almost flawless. Along with the night vision. Chefs kiss.

Overall the camera are ok. I like that it records a video of the notification. After a few months one of my cameras keeps disconnecting from the internet and another one turns all purple and you’re barley able to see anything on it. I tried restarting it and same problem. So they are a little pricey for the quality. I do have a one year warranty that came with the purchase so I’m going to see what they can do and how long the new ones will last me.

Good video quality for the non 4K model. Automated setting pretty good, but there could be more options for filtering out false alarms.

I bought 2 sets of 4 cameras. 4 for inside the house and 4 for the exterior. I enjoyed these cameras while they lasted. Video quality was decent and didn’t have many issues besides 2 of the 8 cameras no longer want to turn on anymore. After attempting to charge the cameras for several hours I am unable to power them on no matter what I do. It’s unfortunate that these cameras only last 1 year 1 month. Now I see why Arlo only gives you a 1 year warranty on their products. It’s because it’s not quality enough for them to trust their own brand to last outside of the 1 year warranty. I will never purchase an Arlo product again. I will pay a little more and get something that lasts longer. Very disappointed.

We have this one facing our driveway. At 4:20am it went off and we captured a person trying to get into our cars. I was able to pause and take a still picture for the police. We even got a squirrel going across the driveway. We have 2 routers for WiFi. You need to make sure that your phone and what you are connecting the Arlo to is the same.

Needs subscription after the free 3 months trial. Or you can use the arlo hub with usb if you dont want a subscription plan with arlo. But every time you review the videos, you need to eject the usb from the hub and insert it in a loptop. I just put it on side of the house were minimal activity is. The light is not that great if your after for it instead get the arlo pro floodlight 3 which also needs subscription after the free trial period. Unlike the old model of arlo which comes with free cloud storage.

The cameras are easy to connect with the Arlo App and the clarity is really good! Got the 4 cameras charged and then installed them and I am so happy and feel much safer. I like that you can set the notifications to just notify you of people and not all movement. This has been a wonderful purchase and has added much safety to my home.

Great solution. I have 4 Arlo Pro cams and needed one more outdoor for my base station.. SURPRISE! I can mix and match and this one was such a great deal I thought I’d try it. Love it - easy to add, great quality, seems durable and works very well. Light also works well in the app! Only thing I wish it had was the magnetic back to mount to my other magnetic mounts. Not a biggie bc it comes with a “screw mount”. Definitely would consider buying again. Gives good coverage of the property as well

The cameras were a pain to set up. Everything I looked up online, seemed like a lot of people had the same issue that needed to be resolved by contacting Arlo support. I have to say there support team have great customer service, but I have not been happy with the product at all. After days and many attempts to get working, I finally got it to work. I leave town and a day later the cameras are offline. The solution was I needed to do something with the cameras which I couldn’t because I was away. Well, those cameras became pointless during trip. Maybe they work better some others and what they are using them for, but for me they weren’t a good product. I will try something else.
