Q: If I wanted to pair these with the leaf bulbs do I need to get a compatible outer

Setting up your Nanoleaf Essentials Bulbs and Lightstrips is quick and easy, so you can enjoy a next level smart lighting experience in no time. After getting your latest version of the Nanoleaf App, you can pair your Essentials and control the Bulbs and the Lightstrips on the same App, no problem! Q: When you place these behind a flat screen, do you stick them to the back of the tv? Or stick them to the wall behind the tv?

A: Back of TV. Although I've also used them under a gaming desk for lighting. Make sure the back side of the TV is clean. Some materials stick better than others.

Q: How can you conform these to edges? Are these the kind you can cut to make corners (I've seen many light strips this way)

A: I did not make a sharp 90 degree angle in corners - instead adhering the strip up to about 1/2” from the corner, then gently bending it and adhering the remainder of the strip about 1/2” away from the corner, continuing on. The adhesive holds just fine even with this gap and I think its better for the longevity of the strip not to have its wires bent as much as hard angles would require.

Q: How many strands can be hooked together?

Q: I see that this light strip is supposed to work with the Amazon Alexa. I already have two nano leaf shapes setup and working fine. However, when i setup the LED light strip it connects with the iphone app, but alexa doesn't see the light strips. Why?

It was actually perfect that you have your Nanoleaf Shapes because they are the key to connecting your Lightstrip to your Alexa, as they can also act as a Thread Border Router! Q: is this wifi only

A: Hello! The Nanoleaf Essentials Lightstrip also works over Bluetooth and Thread. A Thread Border Router allows your Essentials and other Thread products to communicate with your WiFi-enabled devices. We offer Thread Border Routing in our Nanoleaf Shapes, Nanoleaf Lines and Elements controllers, or you can use a compatible border router from one of our partners! Q: Can these strips be controlled with a motion sensor, as in getting out of bed at night to go to the bathroom without using voice or picking up iPhone (which is in sleep app) ? Not really awake at these times.

A: Yes, you can set this up with automation in the Home App on iPhone. You'd set up essentially IFTTT (If this then that) saying IF motion is detected, THEN turn on the lights. You'd also have to set up a timer or something to make them eventually turn off
