I like the game modes. The graphics are great. But MyCareer could've been better

This game is definitely the best 2k that's ever come out. The idea of integrating the story mode and my park was genius. They have a foot locker, a gym, the park, a barber shop, a tattoo parlor, a pro am, a training facility, even a studio where you can play around with a beat maker. Its awesome! My one and only gripe about the game is the VC system. Its incredibly hard to earn VC. Shoes are about 5,000 VC and you only earn a max of about 1,000 VC per game you play. So you're not really paid like a real NBA player and its hard to grind and buy dunk packages and attributes. Its the only thing about the game that's unrealistic. It kind of makes VC a money grab. You must buy VC to level up or buy shoes... otherwise you're stuck with a generic character that can't shoot or dunk or dribble or rebound. Hopefully 2k listens to the community next year and makes it easier for players to earn VC by playing the game... not just by purchasing it.

Best basketball game by far. Graphics are incredible. Gameplay is superb. My career mode is excellent. The only issue I have with the game is the virtual currency that is needed to help boost your online player skills. Most everyone has bought extra currency so if you don't buy any you are way behind.

This is the best 2K to date. With the all time rosters and the mycareer mode you can play this game for days straight and not get tired of it. If you are a 2K fan or just a fan of basketball, this game is a must have

The game itself is excellent! Just enough has been changed to the gameplay to make it feel a little different while maintaining the quality of NBA 2K games in the past. The only con I have for this game is the VC system and how much it pushes buying more of it for real money. Paying full price for a game and then being told to spend $20-50 more to be able to max out your MyCareer player or MyTeam squad is insane to me, and a terrible business practice.

NBA 2K18 is back and providing the same great gameplay, graphics, and presentation as we all have come to know and love. They have made the dribbling easier and put the shot meter behind the player which takes some getting used to. The game has many returning modes like Myplayer, MyTeam, Franchise, Online and so much more. MyPlayer has gotten the biggest upgrade now with a more open world interface with your team's basketball facility being the starting point. There are also shops where you can change your appearance but getting haircuts, clothes, and tattoos. This part can be a real grind for anyone who has a life becasue your player starts out with a low 60 ranking and after playing several dozen games I was only able to get my player to a 70. This forces you to either quit your job dedicate your life to 2K or pony up extra cash to get Virtual Currency and buy your way to the top. I chose the latter and spent $30 just to get my player to an 80 overall which means I can truly complete with some of the best. Granted this is the only mode that requires that level of grind or cash and you can enjoy all of the other modes and exclude MyPlayer and you still have the best basketball game around. I give it a 5 of 5

I bought this game on launch day and there are definitely some pros and cons to mention here. First, I thought that the addition of the neighborhood was a great touch that brought a much needed cosmetic change to the MyPark mode. I also really liked that they added some new and useful features to the MyLeague/MyGm mode such as sending younger players down to the G-League to develop. While its not drastically better, 2k18's gameplay is also an improvement over its predecessor. A couple of things that I disliked about the game was the heavy emphasis on micro-transactions and the mind-numbing grinding it takes to get your player to a decent level in MyCareer. As someone who doesn't have a ton of time to spend grinding with my player and doesn't believe in supporting the pay to play approach that companies are emphasizing, that was really disappointing to me. The server issues were also a major problem that I experienced with the game but that's to be expected with 2k's games at this point. With that said, 2k is still the better basketball game and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a basketball sim.

I can't lie this might be the best 2k ever. Career mode goes hard. I think they got spike lee to do the walk of your player. Fun

Every year they make minor improvements with 2k. 2k18 feels different. Story mode for GM is ok. I am not a fan that you can't import your own created players and have to wait until your second year to import a draft class. Online is absolutely the best it has ever been. Pretty cool to walk around and complete all the activities. This is the first time with ANY game that I have purchased virtual currency, so that tells you how much I was sucked into the virtual world.

Most solid NBA2K game in years from a gameplay standpoint. Controls are tight and refined, and there's ton of features, gameplay modes and new classic teams, including the new All-Star teams. But MyCareer is nearly unplayable without purchasing VC to upgrade your player, unless you're willing to put in hundreds of hours of grinding. If you won't play MyCareer, the game is worth it.

My boys were so excited when this game came out. They don't do seasons right now, they just play in VS situations, but they love the game. I like it because it's a game I don't have to supervise because of language and violence. Also, it has some old school players and uniforms so I can teach them when the NBA was fun in the 80's as a kid.
