Mickey Mouse is one of my favorite characters and I have several and this is one of my favorites. Such a good quality well made vinyl figure of the king himself Mickey Mouse.

I am a Disney nut so may just be me. But this is probably the best office display Disney collectible yet. Looks so much better in person. Excited to have it in my office at work to show all the years blended into one nice size Mickey!

I was super excited to find this Disney x kidrobot Mickey Mouse figure when I was perusing the clearance section of the Best Buy website. kidrobot is one of the premier collectible toy figure producers, and this collaboration was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney. It originally sold for $50, it was on clearance for $19.99, and I had a coupon that brought the price down to $16 and change, plus free shipping. While I didn’t really need this figure, it was too good of a deal to pass up. The delivery part went well, it arrived when it was supposed to and the box it came in looked like it had been treated well, with no obvious dents or other red flags. So I was pretty confused and disappointed when I pulled the toy box out of its packaging. As you can see from the pictures, Mickey’s arm was completely severed from the rest of his body. I was confused because the box didn’t appear to have been opened, and there was no sign of damage on the box containing Mickey that would have caused his arm to break off. There was also a weird section of cardboard packaging inside the Mickey box that didn’t appear to be part of the box or the toy, and it just looked like it came from some other product’s packaging. The whole situation was just odd. I debated whether or not to return it and ask for a replacement, but I wasn’t sure if there would be any others to replace it with, and I didn’t want a refund on such a good deal. Thankfully, the arm break happened right where it meets the body and under Mickey’s chin. So I took super glue and glued his arm back on, and even if you examined it closely you wouldn’t be able to tell the it was initially broken. I have to say though, this is not a toy for children, or a toy at all really. Mickey’s tail is long and looks like it would snap off easily without much pressure. And just from a design perspective, on the black and white side of Mickey, his shoe is still brown, and has a yellow buckle. The other shoe has no buckle. The shoe on the b+w side should be black, but maybe that didn’t look right because Mickey’s leg and body are already black. Anyway, still pretty cool for $16, all things considered.

The execution is just okay, up close, the design feels a little busy and the stylized mashup of Mickey's different eras doesn't flow together as seamlessly as I'd hoped. It's not ugly, but it's not the instant "wow" piece I was expecting either. At full retail, I'd think twice. At a discount, it's a perfectly fine addition to a Disney collection.

Really cool figure of the greatest mouse of all time.

Is a must have even if you don't like Disney. Great size and the details are phenomenal.

Unique collectable from kid robot. Box was damaged but was the last item in store so kept it.
