About This Item

On his album NEGRO DELUXE Siifu trades in soulful rap for punk, fueled by the Black experience in America followed by spiritual jazz and poetry. A beautiful chaotic collage of sounds that reflect the black man's thoughts on the day-to-day. It doesn't take long to reach the heart of NEGRO, Pink Siifu's new album. It's an aggressive collection of hardcore punk and free jazz, with bold lyrics that encourage shooting back at trigger-happy law enforcement. This album profoundly communicated the anger of an African-American community beset by police violence a month before the murder of George Floyd lit the streets on fire. In April 2021, he revisited the project with NEGRO DELUXE, which doubled the length of the original. Pink Siifu tells Bomb Magazine Inchafter we were done mastering and mixing, Zeroh was like, InchYo, NEGRO is like fire, and NEGRO DELUXE is like smoke... So I would characterize NEGRO DELUXE as, like, after you're angry, after you've punched a wall, after you beat somebody up, whatever, how do I channel that into something else? How do I just let it go? I feel like NEGRO DELUXE is that, for real, in a nutshell. It's like the chaos calmed down after all the fire's gone and the smoke is in the air.Inch It isn't anything like ensley, Siifu's breakthrough 2018 LP. Where that record used mid-tempo soul and hip-hop to score his upbringing, NEGRO is a riotous mix calling for Black revolution. It's also the most fearless project in his growing discography. NEGRO harkens back to 1992, to Ice-T's thrash metal band Body Count, song InchCop KillerInch. This album is meant to remind us of Rodney King, Racist Cops, The Black Panther Party, and Christopher Dorner, the ex-L.A. police officer who, in 2013, went on a violent shooting spree against his former colleagues and their family members due to seeing his own policeman violate the people there supposed to be protecti

Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station - VINYL LP

GRATEFUL DEAD / TERRAPIN STATION / Newly Mastered by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer David Glasser. Produced for by David Lemieux. The first Arista Grateful Dead album, and the first studio album featuring an outside producer their debut album a decade earlier, Terrapin Station is one of the deepest, densest, most ambitious album in the entire Dead catalog. Arista president Clive Davis vowed to get the Dead a hit record (that would take another 10 years), so he paired the Dead with Fleetwood Mac producer Keith Olson, and they created an album unlike anything they'd ever made before, filled with strings, horns, a choir, and countless other new sounds in the Dead world. And the songs... what a collection! Estimated Prophet, Samson and Delilah, Passenger, Dancing In The Street, and Donna Jean Godchaux's first lead vocal on a Dead album, Sunrise, make up Side 1. And Side 2 is the entire Terrapin Station suite, with many parts and twists and turns. Truly one of the most exciting sequences of music ever committed to vinyl by The Grateful Dead. Album Tracks 1. Cage the Elephant - Cage the Elephant - VINYL LP
    4.6(11)

Cage THE ELEPHANT is a Bowling Green, Kentucky-based five piece band consisting of Matt Shultz (vocals), his brother Brad (guitar) and their friends Daniel Titchenor (bass), Lincoln Parish (guitar) and Jared Champion (drums). Matt, Brad and Daniel grew up on an alternative religious commune started by their ex-hippie parents. Pop music was strictly forbidden so their discovery of key punk and rock influences was covert and somewhat recent. The essence of Jimi Hendrix, Green Day, White Stripes and Kings of Leon, among others, fuels Cage's libertine, over-the-top rock explosions. Appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and a tour with Queens of the Stone Age provided the band with critical early live exposure. They then relocated to the UK for a period of time, where their debut self-titled album was released in mid-2008. It has sold over 40, 000 copies to date in the UK, driven by a Top 40 charting single and extensive touring there, including memorable performances at sold-out Reading and Leeds festivals. Cage the Elephant now returns to the land of their origin, exultant, intemperate, and ready to conquer. Album Tracks 1. In One Ear 2. James Brown 3. Ain't No Rest for the Wicked 4. Tiny Little Robots 5. Lotus 6. Back Against the Wall 7. Drones in the Valley 8. Judas 9. Back Stabbin' Betty 10. Soil to the Sun 11. Free Love
